@liarbled II Yeongmi and Hansol
“you okay?” II accepting
Hansol lives every day to the fullest, he doesn’t wish to waste a moment because he knows, knows that sometimes the next moment will never come again. His body bares the marks of that quote, marks that most have been covered up by tattoos with beautiful flourishes to mirror the night sky. It makes his body feel less repulsive and more like a work of art, maybe it’s vain when he puts it like that but it makes him feel beautiful, it makes him feel like he belongs up there with the stars as he walks along the top of the wall bordering the rooftop. One step falls right after the other, arms outstretched like a tight rope walker as he carries himself with dignity and grace, his lips pulling into a playful smile that reflects a childhood long since lost. He thinks when he’s up here, lets the restless thoughts out as he whispers them into the night sky and watches as they shoot across the town like falling stars, never to plague him again. Hansol comes to a stop and lets his foot linger over the edge of the rooftop, pondering over how far down he’d fall if he truly let himself go. He won’t die—maybe not. But the thrill of a freefall is tempting, he hears about it from mortals when they first fall asleep, that it feels like they’re freefalling and he wants that too. Wants to feel that weightlessness as time falls away from him, his worries unable to hold him down as he leaps; but it’s only a thought as he hears the doors open behind him.
Emerald hues glance over his shoulder, his mother in all her beauty and grace stands there before him and he smiles as he holds a hand out for her. Fingers outstretched as if he’s offering her a grand gift instead of the plunge below and he shakes his head. “I wasn’t,” he admits, for he knows he’ll never be able to lie to her, not to Yeongmi, not to the woman that has come to mean so much to him as warmth spills across his features and laces with his words. “But I’m okay, I just needed to breathe, I needed somewhere to go and feel f r e e.” The young vampire admits as he helps her onto the ledge with him, lacing their fingers together, the both of them standing looking every bit like they could fall off with just the right push of a breeze. Hansol stays up there with her for what feels like hours, watching the traffic at his feet, feeling the energy of the stars above him as he looks up at the cloudless night sky until he takes a step back and lands upon the rooftop gracefully.
His hands find Yeongmi’s hips and he carefully brings her down to the rooftop with him. Of course she doesn’t need to be handled so gently but Hansol refuses to treat her with anything but a gentle hand and kind words, she’s suffered so much even if she won’t admit to him. Dark green hues watch her, study her features as he brings a hand up and tucks loose hair behind her ear. “You’re always here when I need you the most, you’re always around and I’ve so often wondered how… why?” He asks but there’s no accusation in his tone, no annoyance as he leans in close and wraps his arms around her waist, buries himself into her embrace as he ducks his head down enough to press his nose against her neck. “When I’m around you there’s so many things I want to say, there’s so many things I want to tell you but I can never find the courage to do so. There are days when I feel that if you knew my thoughts, if you heard them for yourself you’d leave… you’d look at me differently and you’d run… from me.” The younger’s tone dips into waters of sorrow, the shore of abandonment covered in beautiful tear shaped seashells as he pulls Yeongmi a little closer, holds her a little tighter as he breathes in her scent and smiles gradually at the calmness she instills within him.
“I don’t remember what it’s like to be held by my own mother, I can’t even remember if she was there when I was growing up, but meeting you--.” Hansol feels his heart as if it’s in his throat, his stomach rolling nervously, and he can’t help but to think that maybe that’s what it feels like to freefall. “Meeting you, feeling your arms around me like this it makes me think that maybe this is what it was like when she did hold me. You care for me in the way that I have never felt, you look after me and if I could ever be so bold as to say, you love me in a way I have never felt but always longed for.” His words are laced with heavy emotion, his throat tight as he pulls back to finally look upon her, fingers smoothing along her jaw and down the gentle slope of her neck as if she is the epitome of elegance and motherhood all rolled into one being. “When I look at you, when I hear your voice all I can think of is how much I want to protect you, how much I want to keep you safe and give you everything you deserve. I want to tell you how much I love you,” its’ an admission that he’s sure she already knows, Yeongmi has a way of understanding his own feelings before even he can. She can see it, can read him like an open book as he finally meets her gaze once more, there’s embarrassment and worry upon his features but more than that, he carries with him the proudness only a son can as he leans in and kisses her cheek. “One day, when we’re reborn, I want you to be my mother again. I want you to be my mother like you are now so I can give you everything you deserve. I won’t let you be hurt again Yeongmi, even if it kills me in every lifetime, even if you tell me to stop, I won’t let you be hurt again. You deserve to be happy and I hope… in some small, selfish way that I can make you happy too, mother.”
