So I’m apolitical, but...

I’m getting real sick of seeing all these posts about social issues and politics; in particular people whining about gun laws now that they can’t complain about gay marriage. When I say apolitical, I mean that I’m libertarian and can’t stand politics. This is not to be confused with me saying that I am a liberal. That is pretty far from the case. As a libertarian, my ideal society would be so close to anarchy it’s not even funny. If you’re gay, marry who you love. If you want to get an abortion, go right ahead. If you want to own guns, please, do so. If you refuse to bake a wedding cake for someone, that’s your right and your loss of a sale, as well as reputation. Government? It should be out of the people’s lives for the most part. The tax payer/government should not have to pay for your extended education. Common Core is a mess and each state should determine its own standards and requirements, based off of what the people in the area vote. Any issue I didn’t bring up? The answer to it is this: You’re an American and should be allowed to do what ever the hell you want, as long as you’re not being an idiot (usually by legitimately hurting others.)

I know I might get ripped apart for this post, but I really don’t care, and I’m not going to indulge childish arguing; It’s a large part of the reason that I do identify as apolitical. I watched politics do nothing but bring out the worst in people throughout my entire life, and I’ll be damned if I entertain that same thing in myself or those around me.

What I have gathered...

Democrats as a whole have given themselves a false sense of entitlement. When society gets itself into a mess they believe that it is the governments job to get them out of it. Take ownership for your own actions and things will work themselves out in the long run. You just have to be proactive and will to work for the desired end goal.

Why does socialism fail?

The most important thing is that it goes against normal human behavior, in socialism incentives are very small or ignored completely. No one wants to work if they aren’t going to get anything out of it.

Socialism shows impressive success in the short term, by giving power to the ‘little guys’ through common ownership. Taking away too much power from the executive and legislative branches of the government. This being said eventually the society will run out of money or eliminate individual freedom.

For there to be true common ownership and sharing of wealth, the government would have to forcibly take income from the haves, in order to give to the have nots.

With common ownership comes shared assets (i.e. property and wealth.) This leads citizens to be held responsible for their actions and to act strictly based on integrity and common good. This is impossible, in society there will always be crime, theft, undocumented income and those individuals that cheat the system.
