Here's something I'm sure you find infuriating;
"I'm not into politics. I don't really know, I'm just not a political person."
We know that this IS being political! It means you condone everything - you don't think anything is worth fighting for, you're fine with the status quo as long as it benefits you vaguely. It's the mindset of someone so aggressively individualist, that the suffering of others is simply not a concern - since the system can't be broken, if they're alright. The kind of people to vote for a fascist if it'll mean that their taxes are lower next year. To stand by and watch oppression is insidious. Not even watch - to Celebrate oppression as long as it's against the "savages" and "beasts." Mass mistreatment still exists beyond the gulf surrounding apathetic suburbia.
Trump Weird News - "On Being Ethical" - SCOTUS READ THIS !!!
you’re not apolitical, you’re just a immature illiterate person who can’t hold accountability and think critically for once
Apolitical people are valid. It's okay to be apolitical.
I'm tired of centrists views, I had gotten into DBD lately and was following a DBD youtuber because of it. They seemed fine, a bit on the unhinged side but nothing near bigotry and was against any of the sort. I saw some posts of them that were political and I liked that. I hate seeing any internet personality that distance themselves from politics, I find that hard to respect, but above all else if you don't want to be involved in politics because it might risk your following, at least commit to that and not open your mouth to spout bullshit, that is encouraged by your privilege. sorry small tangent. Anyway, I saw a political video made by them and was honestly worried before clicking on it, and surprise surprise just the worst stance on almost everything that was happening in the world. How do you see the no kings protest as hypocritical when they protest the UNLAWFUL detaining of Maduro, regardless if you think he is a dictator or not. The U.S. does not just have an all you can do authority over the world, where they can just waltz into another country and meddle with its governmental affairs. It's not like WE HAVE QUITE THE HISTORY OF WHY THAT IS BAD FOR THE U.S. TO DO. Also mentioning how the Palestine protestors were silent when it came to the atrocities happening in Sudan or Iran. How do you know they're silent? BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT, you just don't know because you refuse to do your research or even entertain that there are protests that are being held regarding that. Just not as big because of the nature of protests regarding Palestine. It was just a very distasteful video that made me lose all the respect I had for them, and they did the whole "both sides have bad" thing which is fine if you were just talking about the democratic and republican parties in the U.S. but just lumping all the people genuinely standing up for human rights is just insane. All that is to say, there is nothing worse in the world when it comes to politics than a centrist (hyperbole due to frustration, there are worse things obviously). Even an extremist at least commits to what they believe in, but what does a centrist believe in exactly? maybe sometimes just shut up and play your video games if you have nothing good to share. Also I'm unsure if there is such a thing as being apolitical, I heard a friend say there are some things but I don't remember them sharing any examples. It is my belief that there is no such thing as being apolitical, everything is political. I would like to hear examples of apolitical stuff if anyone has any, and why would they be apolitical would be a nice bonus to read.
Daily Reminder:
you don't have to be a republican to be Pro Life
you can fall under any political party or belief system/etc and also be Pro Life/anti abortion
Normalize calling out performative apathy.
Pero para sa maraming tao, politics is not entertainment or online drama, it's survival.
Hindi moral high ground ang disengagement. Hindi ikinaka-mature ang pagiging indifferent. Sa panahon ngayon, mas nakakahiya yung walang pakialam kaysa sa taong willing makialam at manindigan.
