Made a new avatar thing.
Today’s prompt for the @undertalesecretsanta raffle side event was “Mittens, scarves, and earmuffs, oh my!”
I wanted to try making something with watercolors, although (or rather, because) I haven’t worked a lot in that medium before. Of course, I still need a lot more practice, but for a beginner’s piece, I actually quite like how this turned out ^^
"There isn’t supposed to be any weather down here seeing as we’re underground an’ all, but every now and then we’ll get freak storms anyway. Researchers say that it’s because of the residual magical energy from us monsters moving in down here; the mountain wasn’t really meant to sustain our entire population, and the changes we make to the environment in here sometimes cause imbalances even though we try to minimize the effects. So, freak weather patterns underground."
"The storms are predictable and we’re warned about most of them in plenty of time to take shelter, but sometimes monsters still get caught off guard away from home anyway, especially ones who are only visiting Snowdin. Grillby’s is always open and warm during a blizzard for anyone to take refuge in if they need to, so is the inn and the shop, but for anyone who can't or doesn't want to make it to any of those places in time, my library is open to them instead."
"I’ve even made a bit of a game of it, heh. Every storm marks a meeting of the Blizzard Book Club, where we pass the time telling stories with hot cocoa until the storm passes and it’s safe to travel again. I’ve gotten quite a bit of positive feedback from monsters who took advantage of the library’s shelter before, and a few local friends look forward to each one. They even make plans to keep me and the others company in time for each meet!"
