Just before closing the library I noticed a student looking frantically through her backpack. When I asked her if I could help she told me that she couldn’t find her headphones and if she left, then she knew they would be lost forever.

There were three places they could be: on the desk, in the bathroom, or in the trash. They were in the trash. In her haste to leave, she threw everything in her hands into the trash, including her fancy headphones.

Out loud, she started being very mean to herself. But then she reminded herself that its the end of the semester and “I’m in the worst class of my life.”

Moral? Check your hands before throwing things away and do not under any circumstances take geophysics.

A Reward for a Hard Day’s Work

Fufufufufu, my my would you look at that, our fated main character has been recorded now~~

The other characters are still under way, I have yet to take their pictures for their profiles. Maybe I should ask Amy don't you think?

It's true that Amy posses remarkable skills as a photographer, but didn't you say it yourself Duo?

We shouldn't mess with their timeline, for we are merely spectators to their lives

I suppose you're right, the story has yet to begin and they haven't even met each other yet

They have no clue as to what fate has in store for them...

Fufufufu... aren't you excited to know more about them dear reader?

Fufufufu~ the others are coming along quite nicely~ maybe we can celebrate with tea once this is all complete

Wow Duo, it seems like you have a lot to say about Em don't you?

Have you perhaps grown attached to her?

*sighs* it cannot be helped if you spend an inordinate amount of time with someone you're bound to at least grow attached to them at some point

I suppose so...

But it's useless to grow attached to them, unlike us they're not immortal beings, they're going to die one day

Even if you will it not to happen, no matter how you rewrite the story, humans are going to die. Whether if it's by their own hands or in the hands of circumstance, not everyone is prepared to handle the repercussions of immortality and it just so happens that most of humanity isn't

Don't make the same mistake again Duo, keep her at arms length don't grow too attached to her... you're just going to hurt yourself all over again...

*chuckles* I'm afraid that's an impossible request, Alice... I guess I've been hanging around the humans for too long haven't I?

You have. And due to that look at you now... you've inherited one of their traits and have grown attached to her. We were created only to serve this library. Having such emotions will only hinder our purpose
