My local library was shut down fairly recently because the conservatives deemed it unprofitable... Yeah the public library that puts education first and is run by volunteers. Yeah , under late stage capitalism profitability trumps all else unfortunately.

So I downloaded Libby! So I can check out ebooks still!

But

Soooo cool. They used to work fine for me when I first downloaded the app.

Really pisses me off that I have no library near me, can't use the Libby app now and the closest library requires ID now (???).

Anyway, if the conservatives win again then I'm killing the UK

Due to the oncoming blizzard, all Sunday service locations of the New York Public Library are closed today, Sunday, February 22.

In addition, the Library will also be closed on Monday, February 23, 2026.
