Long Time Coming (14 - Beth)
You can always hear him before you see him, the whirling grind that begins every adventure whether it be inspiring change or foretelling tragedy. A dull thud echo’s softly off the brick walls and works it’s way out of the ally only to be lost in the sounds of life on the street. Whistles to himself a tall man steps out of a blue box, twirling the key on his index finger while the doors close themselves with click.
“Well, it’s only been a couple months right?” He whispers encouragingly to himself as he runs a hand through his hair, the other finding it’s way into his jean pocket. Inhaling deeply Doc counts to ten before releasing his breath and counting to six. “No more stalling.” He states to himself before taking a step forward, soon his feet are carrying him out of the ally and into the street and over the steps of the library.
Once inside it doesn’t take him long to find her among their beloved books, his other senses tell him they’re along but that’s more of an after thought. His chest felt tight, his vision funneling til she was all he could see, the light playing off her skin giving her a soft angelic glow. He hadn’t noticed he’d stopped breathing, his hand right hand hovering over one of the many books as he stood still and drank in the vision in front of him.
“Excuse me, I was wondering if you could help me find a book?” He asked with a small smirk.
