Yeah, I bought the Descent cause I thought hey more lore cause I love lore to pieces (though I'm more into Elvhen lore than Dwarven lore but w/e)... every single boss enemy had easily over 100k health which y'know bran's spirit sword can easily do 1k damage, but not if the damn things are constantly hitting her and weakening her barriers. Trespasser was a nightmare cause my trusty barrier mage WAS GONE AND HE LEFT ME WITH MORE QUESTIONS THEN ANSWERS
omg yeah i can imagine that was difficult. I always make sure that all my mages have the spirit magic tree filled out enough to cast barriers and revive people because lemme tell you fighting dragons and combat in general would have been a much larger pain without that
it took me two tries to beat saarath and i forgot to pick up the potions in the supplies cache the second time around so i went into that fight with four health potions left idk how i managed to beat him then but it involved a lot of running around, screaming and jumping.
You think Trespasser was hard? Have you played the Descent? XD Cause I beat the final boss in that with 0 health potions left, Solas, Varric, and Cassandra on the floor, and Branwen running around in circles screaming because she had like maaaaybe ten HP left... ON EASY. tbh the only reason I beat it was because of Bran's focus ability (aka the only healing spell in the game)... there's a reason I have no intentions of writing a fully fledged descent fic...
I have absolutely ZERO desire to play Decent because 1. i hate the deep roads and 2. the darkspawn in da:i are significantly more difficult to beat and i do not want to fight hoards of them oh my god yeah i’m not paying 15 bucks to get my ass kicked in a dlc that only contributes marginally (ish) to the main story

write a lavellan squad drabble perhaps? maybe at a time when they're actually happy instead of when there's nothing but angst XD
wthis is really short because i’ve got two drabble requests here and i’m determined to fill both so here we go
He’s running, jumping, grappling. Falling. Wind whistles in his ears and Voski lets out a laugh when he hears a high pitched shriek before he plunges into the freezing river water. Pushing off the sandy bed, he surfaces with a wide grin and looks between Bran and Ella. “Well?” he asks, pushing his hair back. “How was that one?”
Bran sits on the bank, lazily kicking her feet in the water. “Not bad,” she shrugs, her eyes twinkling in amusement. “But I’ve seen better.”
Voski wrinkles his nose and sticks out his tongue. He breaks out into a fit of giggles when Ella splashes him. She’d been the first one to swing off the rope. “You almost landed on me, you jerk!” she chides, but her laughter betrays her scolding words.
“Alright, c’mon you two,” Bran says as she stands, spreading her arms apart and waving her hands, motioning for them to move. “Out of my way. Let me show you how a master does it!” She races for the rope, swings, and as she tucks her knees to her chest as she falls. She lands with a loud SPLASH, sending water in all directions. She comes back up laughing and splashes water at the other two.
They spend the rest of the day down by the river, laughing and throwing water at each other, enjoying themselves only as children can. Free of care and worry for what the future holds. All they need is right there with them, and as the sun begins to set and the moons start to rise, they huddle together by a small campfire and wish that these days would never end.
licoriceandribbons replied to your post: do they have the kind of magic that we have in...
i assume they do?? Cause i mean, it’s illusions that can be created because the brain is actually pretty stupid and easily fooled XD so one does not necessarily have to be any good at illusion magic in order to be a magician
i mean this is p much why i assume they do too, but like...how do the templars deal with that? like especially the people who are really really good at that kind of non-mana magic that others think that they’re legitimately a mage like do the templars just have books on those kinds of magic tricks so they know it’s not actual magic? or does the order send out templars who have to come back and be like “yeah false alarm, it was actually two people in two different boxes, no one was actually getting saw-ed in half”

I can’t write on paper only because I’m constantly editing things. I’m bad about that. XP

For me it’s the opposite… I don’t like writing on paper because I always feel compelled to go back and rewrite everything because I hate how it came out :/
huh...
idk i think it’s mostly because my handwriting is absolutely atrocious (especially in pen, like it’s somewhat legible in pencil but in pen? NOPE) so going back and rewriting would just be a lot more effort than it’s worth.
not really, i mean they squabble sometimes about small things (like voski dog-earing book pagess once he finally learns to read, that drives dorian crazy) but anything larger than that is rare. But it does happen from time to time. Usually it revolves around voski withholding information and dorian worrying. Voski is very quick to apologize when this happens and they always make up pretty quickly.
4. who’s uncomfortable with PDA and who loves it?
at first dorian doesn’t care too much for PDA’s just because of that internalized homophobia but i think he grows to be comfortable with them. Voski on the other hand is pretty forward with his affections, so hand holding and quick kisses on cheeks/lips aren’t that big a deal for him.
6. big spoon/little spoon?
Dorian is the big spoon and Voski is the little spoon. Voski likes feeling safe and protected, and that’s exactly how dorian’s arms and dorian’s chest against his back makes him feel
8. any nicknames?
Voski is amatus and Dorian is vhenan. nothing especially creative
10. what’s “their song”?
hell if i know. probably something maryden started playing while they were chilling out in the tavern with sera, iron bull, and the chargers, and voski was just really feeling that music (and was also in a really good mood and idk probs a little drunk too) so he kept asking people to dance with him and dorian finally agreed after everyone was like "Go on dorian, dance with him!”
12. who remembers anniversaries?
Dorian because i’m pretty sure the dalish use a different calendar so voski is just ????? in terms of the chantry calendar. But voski trusts dorian when he says that it’s been x amount of time and a celebration is in order.
14. who tops/bottoms?
voski usually bottoms but son let me tell you he’s a hell of a power bottom and will ride dorian’s dick harder than any of Dennet’s horses
16. weirdest hobbies?
you know, i can totally see dorian being into bookbinding/ book restoration and voski presses flowers
18. who cooks?
VOSKI i am sorry i can’t see dorian being a good cook at all
20. who said “i love you” first?
voski does. like i said before he’s more open with his affections and this includes verbally as well.
22 christmas satanalia traditions?
No, mostly because i think they celebrate whatever dalish holiday happens at around the same time. said holiday is more meaningful to voski than satanalia ever was to dorian, so they generally just celebrate the one
24.do they stargaze? expand.
You bet your boxers they do. It started off as something they did whenever they came across the astrariums. Voski would spend hours trying to figure them out but since he didn’t know what the common constelations were, he struggled, but dorian helped him out. After a while the two ended up sharing the different stories they had learned and which clusters of stars they corresponded to.
