THE LAVELLAN SQUAD for @he-sgotthebodforthat <33333
Does a little jig. Before the conclave Lavellan-Mahariel squad are literally just six idiots + one toddler that occasionally take down asshole shemlens, and also help that one dude in Denerim sell his shit from Orzammer. The only Dalish elves besides Evra, Kanin, and Kries Mama to have free roam of the place lmao. Well they're the only Dalish elves there. Of course the Lavellans go back to the clan when they can but they make more frequent traveling trips after the time of Mahallas death, because fuck what the Keeper says (tm), they're best friend and her twin brother aren't cursed. Deshanna never liked them anyway.
This is super short, I apologize. But all I can think of is Lavellan-Mahariel squad antics and showing up to Skyhold in the aftermath. Also hugs from Kanin. Riven belongs to @chaitea09 And Krie belongs to @orihharas ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• They had all arrived in states of disarray, well, almost all of them. As the gaggle of elves entered Skyhold's main courtyard it could be seen that only the little boy and the dog that trotted after him were untouched. Each of the others? Blood and grime spotted their skin, and had gathered in their hair, freshly coated in it in fact. The one most dirtied seemed to be the rather chipper looking silver haired elven woman, toting a greatsword taller than she was, graced with the blue tendrils of Mythal. Not exactly their leader but she had an air of importance to the group. Beside her walked another woman, much taller than her silver headed friend, dark skinned and blonder than even Cullen Rutherford. Violet eyes shone out from underneath dark bruising and a gash along her freckled forehead that still oozed. There seemed to be no weapons on her person but there was a rather large lexicon strapped to her hip, possibly a mage. She too bore the vallaslin of Mythal, although golden and much more elaborate. These two were obvious trouble, however in what seemed to be a good way, as Varric would say they "reminded him of the Hawke Twins, cuddly idiots with a penchant for violence". Behind those two were a few more member of their group, all tattooed with various Dalish markings, and of course not without wounds. One of Leliana's agents had already fled to the War Room to tell her his report, and a confused Sera popped her head out of the tavern door. "Shoulda cleaned up before coming in here, people are sure to say we eat kids now", one of the group mumbled, Krie, Evra's adopted younger brother. His sister thwacked him on the shoulder, freckled cheeks lighting up with a grin. Before they could get any closer to Skyholds door the courtyard was filled with the sound of the aforementioned entrance being opened. There stood a rather excited looking Inquisitor Riven and a slightly off put looking Commander Rutherford. "Calliope! Evra! You came!" the Inquisitor shouted from the top steps, unaware of the toddler and mabari sprinting towards her. Until of course Kanin let out an exclamation of: "Riven! Riven!" And instantly latched onto her legs, while the mabari, Kili, began to bark excitedly. "Ir abelas, lethallan. We were going to send word out of Redcliffe but some Red Templars decided to impede our travels", Calliope called up to her, while Evra made a dash for her toddler brother. He may have not been covered in grime but hugging the Inquisitor in public? That could be bad. "Red Templars, huh? I gather you gave them quite the beating" "You know we did, dear Inquisitor", Evra answered for her friend, scooping up Kanin in the process. A bright smile appeared on the little boys face as he waved happily to Riven. "We also fought some baby dragons! I have some scales from them!" Riven's eyes widened at the mention of dragons and swiveled towards Cullen, who visibly paled. "You fought dragons?" "More like two little hatchlings that decided to set our bedrolls on fire. It seems they were lured into camp however", once again Evra answered, "Krie was trying to catch one for a pet" "Hey! They were right there and you know a dragon would be cool to have as a pet! Better than a fucking mabari" Krie grumbled from behind Calliope, who shook her head and grinned. "Well come on in, you are all positively filthy! Josephine will kill me if I leave you all to bleed on the carpets" Riven grinned right back, motioning for the group to follow her and Cullen inside of Skyhold, to which they gladly complied. Never was a dull day with their ilk, and that's just how they liked it, but none of them wanted to spend a second more in the grime and gore.
Out of Time
Inspired by a thing @sportivory said about Evra!! Have a Time AU! Where the Lavellan squad gets blasted to the past as a result of a malfunctioning attempt at getting the Fade back! First part is kind of short because it's 10:30 and I'm really tired. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Well, that had been- unexpected. One moment Solas' staff had been locked with The Inquisitors as they stared dead into each others eyes; fully committed to stopping the other. It had been odd to feel the other elfs hand in hers again, however not all that unusual to find herself thrown to the ground with the staff blade against her pale throat. Deep hurt and guilt had flooded Solas' face instantly at the prospect of killing his lover, not to mention all those he had protected up to this point. He had been ready, Calliope knew that, but if the Dread Wolf had gone through with his plan she would be a few pinches of ash by now. Instead, Solas had drove his staff into the ground and pulled her in close, lips dangerously close to her ear. Then there was an unmistakeable electric current, what should have been the Fade ripping back into the world, however was not. She had no broken bones, but there would be bruises and lacerations to count later. The blast from whatever magic had been released had sent Calliope sprawling across the battlefield and straight into someone she was sure was not wearing adequate armor, as nothing had been severed. Of course the handful of soldiers she had taken were the entirety of her clanmates and Krie, along with his younger sister, Revas. But if the fade had ripped open... "You should really wear less padding...", a gasp echoed through the ringing in Calliope's ears and she painfully rolled over. Beneath her lay the albino rogue, a good cut to the head smearing blood across his thin features; poor Krie looked as if he was going to be sick. Must have punched him in the gut. "I'll wear less padding when we're not at war", Calliope grumbled as she hauled herself to sitting position, "Or when we're out of the fucking fade" "...Fade...?" "Are you two idiots alright?!" The sound of scrabbling footsteps echoed around the pair, one of which was just getting used to the brightness of light, or really the lack thereof. Everything about the battlegrounds had changed drastically; piles of the dead were replaced with large trees so tall that they vanished before you could see the top, golden leaves littered the floor of the woods where there should have been nothing but pools of blood and muddy terrain. In every direction there was nothing but foliage, and of course the merry band of elves. Evra was the first to approach with the others on her tail, crimson streaked across her grimy face and shaky hands. Her violet eyes fell upon Calliope and Krie as if she had just witnessed a murder. "Do I need to repeat myself?" she repeated softly. "Currently I'm not trying to vomit, but I believe Callie's okay. She landed on me in the blast" Krie replied for them, glaring when his lover, Ari, started to laugh. Evra ignored the two and shifted her gaze to Calliope, who stared blankly at the forest floor. This had to be the Fade and yet... it didn't feel intangible, or otherworldly, there was nothing unnatural about it. If this was real... "Where in sweet Andraste's name are we?" tiny Revas murmured from Evra's side, her eyes too locking on Calliope, "and where did Solas go?" There was an immeasurable silence as each member of the Lavellan clan, and extended family glanced about frantically, but not a scrap of the mage could be found. Only what seemed like miles of woods were in every direction and nothing seemed to have been recently disturbed, except for the way the others had come. He had disappeared. "This has to be the Fade, right?" Ennis drew in close to Evra and Revas, trembling. Both Krie and Calliope gave each other a look of downright terror, this was not at all what they had experienced at Adamant, nor was it like the many times Solas had lead his lover into dreams. "I think...this is real" Calliope finally broke the quiet, "It's much too calm for the Fade, there would be a thousand spirits bustling about in every inch of the battlefield if the Fade had opened up again" At that moment each elf cast one another a withered glance and it was Elessar, that spoke their collective thought. "Well, fuck"
For TMI Tuesday and your Inquisitors, what do they think of Solas after Trespasser? Do they have any plans for after things settle down?
Ohhhhhhoooo thank you for this ask!! Believe me I have some things about this.
Calliope is absolutely belligerent at first, she loses her arm, finds out her egg is the fucking dread wolf and holy shit it’s just a bad time. She tries activating any eluvian she finds because Creators help her she’ll save him at any cost, even her own life. Solas is the love of her life and she’s scared but her view will never change because she sees the good in him. Once things settle from that she moves to Kirkwall and helps the city guard, becoming a Red Jenny to help out the little people. After whatever happens in DA 4 she’ll settle down with Solas for sure.
Elessar, oh Elessar. ELESSAR IS PISSED. He’s so angry but also conflicted because if Solas had such a solid reason for shutting the ‘gods’ away then it should be okay, but the whole tearing the world apart, and you know, HURTING HIS TWIN SISTER. He is so fucking mad. Dorian helps soothe his nerves but it was so close for Elessar that he almost sucker punched that goddamn egg. He eventually snuck into Tevinter with Dorian and worked on the downlow to look for spies from Fen'harel. If he could even be called that. It took a long time for him to stop snarling about that name.
Ari is scared to say the least, not for himself but for Solas. Solas was a teacher and a confidant to him through his entire time in the Inquisition, he taught him things he never thought he’d learn and it really opened his eyes. But when it was revealed that Solas was the Dread Wolf? His guts clenched. He knew Solas had lied before, but not on this level, sure Ari felt betrayed but never had he been so terrified that his friend would die for a reason such as that. Ari and Krie both became Red Jennies afterwards, helping Calliope along during the harder years, they of course settled down somewhere near Denerim and keep Stab Jr close.
Ennis and Evra both have the same reaction, this idiot has got to be out of his mind, and then downright enraged. It’s a much different rage from Elessar’s as both of them were devout Dalish, screaming about how they should have known that they’re gods were shit, and basically slavers. They were also pissed that the person they had counted on was a fucking BAD GOD, and that Calliope had been duped by an asshole. Evra continued to be extremely angry about it, eventually telling her children about the true history rather than sugar coating it, and tells them they can have whatever faith. She believes hardcore in the fact that Andrastian faith is more tied in to Solas than anything else. She never tells Cullen however, not wanting to offend his faith, as she loves him too much. Ennis eventually just shrugs it all off and ignores it like everything else, he would rather tag along with his love Bull than deal with it. Although the both of them always help Calliope regardless.
Daisy is the one that quietly fumed at Solas although she tried to kick the Eluvian open to go and take a shit on everything Solas loves. Daisy welcomes Calliope every time she crawls into her shared bed with Sera, and snuggles the Inquisitors nightmares away. Sera and Daisy both end up living with Calliope to help out with the Red Jennies as well as give enormous amounts of emotional support.
August is confused, very confused. He never liked Solas to begin with but now it’s just like “what do I do now?”. His entire faith was questioned by Evra as she vented to him about the Andrastians possibly being duped by Fen'Harel himself, and he was just one big “I don'g fucking know”. It was so extensive that he couldn’t wrap his head around the whole idea even when Silvhen explained what had happened. He honestly never settles down due to the fact he married Cassandra, and they both are so justice driven that they constantly are in and out of finding things to do.
Silvhen is, happy almost. He feels angry that someone he looked up to lied to him, but he eventually agreed with what Solas said. He feels that it would be so much better with the Fade and the world as one, since he had been abandoned by his parents due to being a mage. He thinks that nothing would be better than that to show everyone how good mages can be, especially if future generations could be exposed to magic for so long they just became accepted. Eventually he has a falling out with Calliope and joins the Dread Wolf’s forces. It’s been undecided if Liri followed him or not.
And lastly the Adaar Twins:The twins feel very confident they should just crush Solas like they fucking bug he is at the end of Trespasser, they’re incensed with the idea that Solas only wants to restore the world for elves when there are so many others in Thedas. Genocide is not something that they think is a very good idea, and is certainly not going to win you over with anyone with common fucking sense. They protect Calliope in any way they can to make sure that the assassins know who exactly they’ll have to get through to sabotage the Inquisition, all the while helping their respective partners, Ranier, and Josephine. While they may not support the trusting of Solas anymore they will help Calliope until their last breath.
So I finally drew Fallout AU Lavellan Squad @thereluctantinquisitor
I really love the idea of all my Lavellans getting notified that their Keeper had turned into an Abomination and had to go destroy her. Especially my Inquisitor. Calliope would finally be able to be strong enough to face the Keeper and not feel guilty for the things she had supposedly done, she would have the courage to forgive the first one who had started calling her a curse again. Not to mention they could put the rest of the clan to rest then, seeing as they had died in Wycome.
