Hey! Being a Dalish, how does Iwyn feel about big-city life like in Val Royeaux?

Hey! thank you for the ask! 

The first time she is there she is overwhelmed for sure. She has been to Wycome, and maybe some smaller cities in the Free Marches, but she would avoid cities on her way to the conclave. On top of that, Val Royeaux is bigger and more foreign to her. She is intimidated by the amount of people and buildings. 

It doesn’t help hat Seeker Lucius and the Chantry is putting on their own special brand of assholery. 

She loves looking at it though. She is also intrigued. By the amount of shops and people. The different wares and food you can buy, the business and the glamour. She always wanted to see more of the world, and in a way it doesn’t get more worldly than this. She can’t help her curiosity, 

She is disgusted when she meets prejudice, people whispering knife-ear and worse, needing Cassandra to stand behind her and look like she would chop people down if they don’t serve her. It is disappointing. 

Iwyn is a bit optimistic, and maybe a bit naive - her clan had a good relationship with the people of Wycome, so she isn’t that used to the racism she encounters. Mostly she tries to ignore it, and having Cass and Varric with her and Solas helps. Also, she learns that merchants are greedy, and it is easy to find someone who doesn’t mind selling things to elves, as long as she has coin. 

She could do without the stares, but she doesn’t know if they are for her valleslin or being ‘Herald of Andraste’. 

All in all she enjoys herself more than she dislikes it, but she knows she will never enjoy living in a city.

hey, for Iwyn, what does she prefer to wear to bed?

thank you for the question @liderfin :)

I think Iwyn probably sleeps mostly naked? At least at Skyhold. When travelling, (or before the Inquisition maybe?), she would probably wear something like an undershirt and some soft pants of some kind, just in case. 

After having kids I see her sleeping in an oversized shirt, maybe something that used to belong to Solas :)

(yes kids will eventually creep into your bed while sleeping so...)

I loved that new movie so much too! :)

IT’S AN AWESOME MOVIE I went to watch it with @kawereen and we seriously couldn’t shut up about it. THE SOUNDTRACKS WERE AWESOME TOO oh my god I’m sad it’s underrated tho. It was a very well done movie, I literally have nothing to complain about it!

6. Do they consider laws flexible, or immovable?Flexible, to be sure. She doesn’t like to rock the boat if she can operate within the system, but in the end she is saving the world, so anything goes, really - as long as it holds up to her *own* moral code. 

11. How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)?Iwyn would seek clarification. She might nod, and say nothing, and then later ask in a situation where she felt it was appropriate to ask for details. Or ask right away if it does not make her appear weak. She is not afraid of seeking counsel, and learning new things. She does want to examine things fully before she makes a decision. 

42. How badly do they want to reach their end goal? Well, what is the end goal? Killing Corypheous? Very badly, will stop at nothing. Redeeming Solas? About the same, but she will not sacrifice her friends, or the world for this (herself is another matter). Bringing back the Dales to the Dalish? about 5/10. She wants this, and will work for this, but she might give up at a point. 

B) What inspired you to create them?I created Branwen because somehow I got into a discussion of a Figure Skating AU, and coach Solas. I am pretty sure I can ‘blame’ @galadrieljones and @tel-abelas-mofo ? In any case, I follow Figure Skating, and there is SO MUCH drama in that world, and crazy relationships, so I thought it would be fun to create an AU for this, though very self indulgent. My favorite discipline is Ice Dancing so I wanted to have an ice dancing couple. With Solas the coach I needed another ice dance partner. I love a couple of sibling teams, and the unique challenges they face, so I created Branwen. I also liked the idea of Iwyn being a big sister, and for canon having something that tied her to her clan, despite her being not very Dalish. 

Branwen turned out to be way more fun and interesting for me than I expected :)
