So now that I have Beyond the Door done, I can start the BatB one! Yay! By the way @lieateer, I am so sorry if I butchered your Ruintale au with my Soriel shit. I tried keeping with what you wanted. Did I stay in those lines at least?
Beyond the Door (final)
Last one! Been fun to write! @lieateer made this au and I've loved writing it! Sappy chapter yes, but oh well. Thank you so much lieateer for giving me permission. And thank you readers and my mooing lizards for reading. Enjoy. ___ Toriel awoke on the ground. Everyone was on the ground too. They had somehow found themselves near the barrier with no recollecting memory. But she hectically sat up when she saw Sans holding Frisk. He was trying to wake them up. "Kid cmon please! Don't you dare be dead. I will kill you if you're dead! Cmon please Frisk... please..." Toriel rushed to his side and held Frisk's head. Their eyes were shut, mouth ajar, and not moving. Toriel's hands were trying hard not to shake. "M-My child... please... please..." Papyrus and everyone surrounded them. Papyrus kneeled to their level and tried to calm them. "M-Maybe they still have a heartbeat?" Toriel's head snapped up at Papyrus before she put her ear against their chest. "Th-They're alive... Frisk my dear... please... mama needs you to wake up. Please..." Toriel saw, to her relief, Frisk's eyes open. "Mama...? Sans...?" "Thank God kid. Dont you EVER scare me like that!" Sans cried to Frisk. Toriel smiled. He loved them so much. "Guys! Its open!" Undyne called. Sure enough, the barrier was indeed open. Toriel took Frisk and stood up, helping Sans up. One by one, everyone left the underground. Monsters gathered to the opening to see outside. Toriel felt Sans take her hand and, as a reaction, she squeezed it gently. Once everyone was out, an audible gasp let out through the crowd. It was beautiful. Amazing. And perfect. The trees were beautiful against the the sunrise, coloured orange with hues of pink. One group by another, everyone went down the mountain. Toriel smiled as she closed her eyes, smelling the sweet air and feeling the wind in her ears. It was then she realised Sans was still holding her hand. Not that Toriel didn't mind. It was almost like eternity they stayed like that until... "Tori... I... I think I'll take up on that offer. Living together. As a family." Toriel looked down at Sans in surprise. "Really?" Sans only nodded. "Sure. If uh..." Sans seemed quiet. Toriel wondered what it could be. So she urged him. He finally answered. "Maybe with us together... officially...?" Toriel's soul stopped. If he meant what she thought... "I know. We've only known each other for what? Almost two years? But I... I really... Toriel I... I love..." but Toriel let go of Sans' hand and pulled his face close. That's when she kissed him. Frisk giggled and hid their face behind their hands, only peeking through their fingers with one eye. When Toriel pulled away, she whispered tenderly, "of course..." (5 months later...) Toriel held the bouquet of gold flowers close to her chest and blushed. Sans moved his eyes to indicate where to look. She did and nearly laughed aloud. There sat Papyrus and Frisk, holding each other. Frisk pat his back as Papyrus was quietly sobbing proudly into a handkerchief. Finally, Mettaton X asked the famous questions. "And do you, darling Toriel, take Sans as your husband?" Toriel nodded. "I do." "And do you, Sans, take the lovely Toriel as your wife?" "You goat to believe I do." Sans winked, making Toriel giggle. Papyrus' sobs were replaced by groans of agony immediately. "Then by the power infested in my soul and electricity, you may kiss the bride." Toriel lifted her veil and bent down to kiss Sans. Frisk ran up to the alter and hugged them both. "I love you mama and dad!" Sans blushed slightly ruffling Frisk's hair. Toriel picked Frisk up with one arm and held Sans' hand with the other. As they walked out, Toriel smiled thoughtfully. To think... All it took in order to get her happy ending... she had to go beyond the door. And she was glad she did. ___ Previous: http://hetafruitsouranhp321.tumblr.com/post/137054316726/beyond-the-door-7

Okay yes. I know. “Get your homework done first!” I only have one response. “To quote Hamlet act 3 scene 3 line 87… no.” Not yet at least. Anyway. @lieateer owns this awesome au. And i was too lazy to write the battle scene.
___
Sans leaned on the door. He saw them approach. Toriel and Frisk were hidden nearby, but safe. That only mattered. Finally, Undyne and all the guards approached. He grinned mischievously. They all looked tired and beat up here and there. Only Papyrus seemed to beam. Sans talked in a know-it-all voice as he spinned a blue bone on his finger.
“Ah… I see you’ve made it out alive. I’m impressed. Quite a lot actually. I’m sure you’re all wondering… why is this traitor trying to help them so much? Does he know of the consequences? I only have one answer.” He put both hands in his pocket and had the bone disappear. “Yeah. I do. But does that matter?”
“Get to the point, squirt!” Undyne yelled, holding a spear. Sans shook his head.
“You just don’t get it. You’ve seen my attacks back there. Heh. Papyrus couldn’t be prouder, what with those puzzles. I’m a bonehead. But man, I’m not THAT big of one to not prep. But my point…” Sans closed his eyes. “How about this weather huh? It’s such a beautiful day outside.” Sans stepped forward as Asgore, the guards, and Undyne did so too. Sans put Papyrus and Alphys in a cell with blue bones.
Papyrus wasn’t going to get hurt. And Alphys was only doing what she was told. Both yelled at him. “SANS! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!”
But Sans ignored him. “Birds are singing… flowers are blooming… on days like this, mercenaries like you…” Sans opened his eyes to reveal his glowing eye. “Should be burning in hell.”
Back and forth, attacks were done. Sans brought out his blasters, as Undyne threw her spears. But Sans was great at dodging. He’d done it numerous times before. Asgore kept throwing his flames at Sans as he jumped.
Sans only saw these coming.
“What’s wrong?” Sans taunted to them. “That the best you can give?!” Sans dodged thirty or more spears thrown in every direction at him. Undyne growled.
“Asgore, now.” Both of them then combined. A huge spear floated above. It was set aflame and ready to go. It was definitely too huge to dodge. Sans frowned before smiling.
“Heh. This is it then. Take care of Paps for me.” As the spear headed towards him, Sans thought of Toriel. She was safe. And she’d never get hurt. He loved her too much to bear it.
But the impact never came. Sans opened his eyes to see Toriel making a shield between Frisk, him, and herself. Undyne and Asgore stood in awe as their attack had failed. Toriel scowled.
“Asgore. Long time no see.”
“T-Tori…”
“Don’t Tori me, Dreemurr. You know I hate you calling me that.” Frisk held Sans’ hand as Toriel put the shield down. Sans put them behind him and put a finger to his mouth, shushing them. She went up to Asgore and poked his chest.
“You think it’s appropriate to do this? Ambushing Sans like you’re checkmating him in chess? I don’t think so.”
“Toriel…”
“And SIX humans? You could’ve used ONE or TWO. But no. Seven! Just had to. Yes seven wizards sealed monsterkind here, but that’s no excuse.” Toriel stomped over to Sans and Frisk and grabbed her belongings. She took Frisk’s hand and huffed. “Cmon Sans. Papyrus, you too.” Using what she could with hands full, she freed Alphys and Papyrus. Sans felt his soul be released from the jar as well as the case shattered.
Sans widened his eyes. Go with her? He stopped her by tugging her sleeve. “Tori, wait. Why Pap and I?” Toriel looked at him and Sans’ soul stopped when she answered him.
“We’re family aren’t we? You and I, Frisk. Your brother…” Sans felt his face warm up. Tori just referred… She just said…
“Tori… I…” but he was cut short. A high pitched laugh echoed through the area. Before they knew it, everyone was trapped in a tangled mess of vines.
Suddenly… everything went black…

Toriel had finished washing dishes when she heard a whoosh noise. A bright blue descended into the kitchen. When she ran out to find what it was, Toriel was surprised to find Sans in a desperate state.
“Sans, what on Earth?!” Sans gripped her arms and made her look straight at him.
“I set up traps and puzzles. But it won’t be enough. Only to buy you so much time. Get Frisk Tori. Please.” Toriel was thrown off by this sudden panic. She only shushed him by covering his mouth and having him pay attention.
“Sans. What are you talking about? Puzzles? Traps? Tell me what’s going on. And slowly.” She pulled her hand away and, slowly, he started to explain.
“They found out. Undyne… Alphys… Royal Guards. Asgore even. Tori… they’re coming to get you and Frisk. You have to get out. I have an idea but it’ll be dangerous.” Toriel’s eyes went wide.
Asgore knew. He’d kill Frisk. Sweet innocent Frisk. Toriel clutched her chest. “H-How…?”
“Alphys has cameras set up in order to keep a lookout for humans. I’m so sorry. I had forgotten and… oh god Tori… this is all my fault-” Toriel interrupted him and higged him tight. She kept the tightest hold of Sans for long moments before letting go.
She’d have to pack. And to her relief, Sans started helping. They’d packed all the essentials needed. Food, clothes, valuables, gold. Everything was important to take with Toriel.
Finally, when everything was packed, Sans picked Frisk up. He kept mind of not waking Frisk up as they went to the door. Sans opened the door for her but stopped her.
“Tori… my plan involves a promise you need to keep. Listen… I put my soul in a jar.” Toriel shook her head, knowing what that meant.
Monster souls could only be safe from disappearing only if the holder prepacked it in a container of some sort inside them. Whether it be with their magic or surgically by container, it was safe. “Sans…”
“If they, somehow, kill me… wait here. Hidden. Wait until they break the door down. Wait until they are all inside. Take my soul. And run. Run to the barrier. Use the souls and mine to escape. And don’t look back. Don’t try to stop them. Just run. Take care of Frisk. Understand me? Tori… if I die, that is my final wish to you.” Toriel just looked at him with horror.
She wanted to protest, but couldn’t find the words. Sans was willing to die for her and Frisk. Tears welling up, she pulled Sans in close in a tight embrace. Sans only returned it shaking. It wasn’t from the cold.
She made sure Frisk was still asleep all the while. They stayed like that for god knows how long. It felt like hours, but in reality it was more likely to be minutes. Finally, Sans spoke.
“Knock knock…”
“Who’s there?”
“I’ll miss…” Toriel fought back sobs as she shakily responded.
“I’ll m-miss who?” Sans cupped her face and pressed his forehead against hers before answering in a heavily emotional voice.
“I’ll miss you. So much.” Toriel couldn’t handle it. She let them fall. The tears fell big and fast. She hugged Sans the tightest she’d ever done.
“I’ll miss you, too.”
Toriel’s crying turned into near hysteria. She felt Sans’ own tears fall onto her plum dress.
She’d fallen completely in love with Sans. And now, she was losing him.

Beyond the Door (5)
I’m sorry for not updating this story for quite a bit. Where I last left off left me brainstorming. And school has exams coming up in days. Plus personal stuff (*cough* the rudest rejection to a date I’ve ever encountered and heard *cough*). Anyway, enjoy. AU by @lieateer . Enjoy.
___
Sans came home in a dream like daze. She was even more beautiful in person than just a voice. His soul seemed to leave him the moment she looked at him. So beautiful were her eyes. A dark amber that reminded one of a comforting dimming fire. Sans wasn’t even afraid to admit it. He might just be-…
Sans looked around Snowdin. Citizens were more scarce than usual. It was quiet. Too quiet. If he saw a resident, which seemed to be quite rare now, they looked at him with either fear or… resentment? Even Grillby looked at him funnily before signing ‘I’m sorry’; Then locked his diner up.
This was weird. Nobody had ever been like this before. Sans walked up to his house and walked in. He noticed something even more wrong. Papyrus wasn’t cooking spaghetti or singing. Nor was he excitedly talking about his day. Suddenly…
“SANS GET OUT!” Papyrus’ voice sounded from the stairs. Sans looked around but in vain. A figure fell on him and pinned him to the floor. Dogamy’s growl sounded above his head.
“Where is it? We know you know.”
“[Dogamy stop. Undyne-]”
“That’s enough Dogamy.” Undyne’s voice told the dog. Sans looked up to see Undyne in front of him. His ribs were hurting from the pinned position he lay in. “Well Sans… we’re quite impressed. Very impressed. But… not enough to let you keep this up. Now tell us… why’d you hide the human?”
Sans’ eyesockets went wide… they found out. Alphys brought Papyrus down, who was cuffed, and looked at Sans with a sad expression. “I’m s-sorry Sans… I… I had to tell. Th-The camera… it c-caught you with the q-queen.”
It came together. Sans cursed in his head. How could he have been so stupid as to forget. Alphys set up cameras to keep an eye out for humans as well. Asgore, to Sans’ surprise, was behind them as well.
“Sans… we need the human. Very much. It is the last soul. The very key to our freedom. The last puzzle piece to solitude.”
“You don’t understand though! Please! You can’t take them! They’re so young! Frisk is amazing! You take them, you take away Tori’s happiness. You take away her very reason to hope. Please. Please-!” Asgore however interrupted.
“I understand you’re doing this for my wife-”
“EX wife.”
“Yes yes. My ex-wife. But Sans. Remember? Please… this is our final chance. Please Sans… please…”
Sans looked at everyone in the room. He then looked at Papyrus whose head was down. Sans growled. “No.”
It was Undyne who spoke next. “Listen twerp! You tell us where the brat is! You have ten seconds!” Papyrus made eye contact with Sans. Sans gave him a look that told him that he had a plan. Papyrus, seeing his glowing blue hued eye, nodded.
“Three… two… one-” but before Undyne could finish, Sans used his magic to throw off those who pinned him. It threw everyone in the room back to the walls from the direct hit. Sans ran to free Papyrus but Papyrus stopped him.
“Go. Warn the human and Lady Asgore. They need to know. Quickly now!” Sans nodded and used his magic to teleport.
He was at the edge of the forest. Off he ran towards the door. On the way he left traps and nearly impossible puzzles to slow them down. Papyrus would be proud of the puzzles.
But all he cared about was warning the human and Toriel.

Beyond the Door (4)
Ruintale belongs to @lieateer. Enjoy the fourth part.
___
“Mama can we now?” Frisk asked Toriel impatiently. Toriel laughed as she readied a snack.
“Almost Frisk dear. Sans is on break in a few minutes.” This was finally it. The day she thought would never come. She’d finally see him. They agreed just a few weeks after the Papyrus incident to finally meet. Face to face.
And, to celebrate, she’d packed a picnic. Frisk loved Sans to bits. They loved hearing his puns and jokes and listened intently to his stories like they were the best things in the world. Toriel knew the perfect spot in the ruins to have this picnic, too.
Frisk swung their legs back in forth in a rhythm, waiting impatiently for their friend to be on break. Toriel smiled. It was precious how bonded they both were. It made her soul swell with… well… determination.
Finally, the last sandwich was packed and ready to go. She remembered Sans said something about liking ketchup. So she packed a few bottles of the condiment. Toriel beamed at her work and straightened out her blue sundress. Honestly she felt it was a bit formal for a picnic, but she chose it since Sans loved blue-…
Did that thought really cross her mind? Toriel looked at the basket with a blush. She couldn’t have just for that. It was comfy to wear and lovely… Maybe he’d like it too. Toriel shook her head and looked at the clock.
It was time.
She took the basket in one arm and held Frisk’s hand with her free one. Frisk smiled as they both walked down a hidden path Toriel kept for the door. Sans would probably not enjoy a messy home.
She wondered what he looked like. Possibilities ran through her head as she let her mind wander. Once at the door, she knocked.
“Knock knock.”
“Who’s there?” Sans answered happily. Toriel was pleased.
“Are.”
“Are who?”
“Are you ready?”
“Yes I am. When you are.” Toriel then, fumbling with the keys, unlocked the door slowly. She was excited. Way too excited for just a small thing. She heard the click of the lock being figured out and opened slowly.
Cold air brushed her face gently and she looked down and eyes went wide.
Coming just to her shoulders and ready was a plump skeleton. Or perhaps it was the blue jacket…? He wore black shorts with white stripes coming up the sides. She almost laughed at the worn dirty pink slippers. His eye sockets were pitch black except for large white orbs occupying them. And his smile was large and toothy.
He stared back at her, making her self conscious and causing her to blush slightly from embarrassment. They stayed like that for what seemed long moments before the silence was broken.
“You’re Toriel?” He asked. She nodded.
“Yes. Hello Sans.” Sans’ face she could see tinted a faded blue, but only for a second before Frisk ran up to him and hugged his sides.
“SANS!” Toriel watched as Sans picked up Frisk and held them at arm’s length.
“So you’re the troublemaking little bugger that I talk to.” Sans hugged Frisk close, causing them to giggle uncontrollably and hug around his neck.
Toriel put a hand on her chest where her soul was. It was a touching moment between the two newfound friends. Frisk’s face glowed practically as they talked to Sans. Toriel knew this would be a perfect picnic.
___
“Wow… they’re worn out. Better get them to bed?” Toriel nodded and thanked Sans as he picked up the picnic supplies.
It had been wonderful. All three played hide and seek before lunch. Then Frisk during lunch showed Sans the many drawings they drew just for him (he put them all carefully into his pockets as if they were glass). After lunch, they went bug hunting before having Toriel’s cinnamon butterscotch pie. Frisk after three slices fell asleep.
Perfectly beautiful day.
Toriel carried Frisk as they walked back. They then quietly stroke up a conversation.
“I want to thank you Sans. So much.”
“Hmm? What for?”
“This.” Toriel looked directly in his eyes. “Everything. From the first day you knocked, to that promise to not tell, to this. You’ve been an amazing friend. And one of the best I’ve had. Ever since I left Asgore, I’ve never felt lonelier. Then you two came along. Thank you.”
Sans gave a confused yet surprised look. She expected no answer but was greeted with one. “You’re welcome.”
Toriel then took the basket and blanket and told Sans to wait as she tucked Frisk in. When she returned, she found Sans with a ukelele. How he fit one under that jacket was beyond her. But her soul leaped as he sang.
“Wise men say… only fools rush in… but I can’t help… falling in love with you…” he looked right as her as she sang along.
“Shall I stay… would it be a sin… if I can’t help falling in love with you…?” Sans grinned as he floated using the magic to play the instrument.
“Like a river flows… SHOREly to the sea… darling so it goes some things… are meant to be… take my hand… take my whole life too… for I can’t help… falling in love…” he floated down taking the instrument with him. Toriel then, without fail, joined him in the last notes.
“With… you…” Toriel then chuckled when Sans put the stringed instrument away.
“What was that for?”
“Oh just… a little something I have been practicing.” Toriel shook her head laughing and smiling gratefully.
She was sure she was falling in love with him.
___
Alphys reran the tapes to Asgore and Undyne over again. It was of Sans and, to all but Asgore’s surprise, Toriel with a human. Smiling and laughing. Alphys walked to the computer and watched the screen.
“After watching him with these cameras at this door… this will certainly crush him…” Alphys whispered sadly as she watched the two bid farewell.
