Dreams are the pieces that connects subconscious and reality together. This much was obvious even if you are not someone who sits and studies them every day - whatever comes at you, might come from your mind. Blurred faces you have once met, happy events... and sometimes not so much. Dreams are when fear and curiosity walk together hand in hand, and you are the explorer. You set them free, as you can pursue whatever it is in your mind.
For Madotsuki, that was the best thing about dreams. To be able to tackle difficult and strange challenges, without really having to... face her actual fears. Not to say they were not there sometimes. She lost count of how many times she jumped awake, sweat covering her own body. But she didn’t have to go out.
When she dreams, she is fine. And when she dreams, she crosses a very simple barrier. The one that connects all dreams together, yours and hers. Yours and everyone else’s.
This is why today she finds herself in a place where she is not used to. It is not her Nexus. Someone else? Maybe she stumbled on another person while she was dreaming. The doors looked like a mixture of hers and not-hers. She could recognize some, and then others were completely new. One that had a strong smell of burnt wood.
And yet she was polite. She knew better than to adventure on her own - even if it was one thing she would not object to - but whoever this person was; it was also their dream. If she was to set off and find some kind of unbelievable secret about this stranger, Madotsuki would feel bad.
So she would give them time. Time to appear, time to notice the strangeness and let it settle him. Time to notice the little girl standing in front of all these doors.
If they had recently slept, they would be there soon. For now, she would simply settle on pacing around the entryways to memories. To recollections happy and sad.
