I’ve been thinking lately that perhaps Jerry would fill in the Fred role. If Fred isn’t introduced in season 3 that is. Jerry was trying to flirt with Diana in season 2.

I totally get that but, as I love Fred, hope they don’t go that direction. My dream is for Jerry to be part of a weird Ruby-Gilbert-Anne-Jerry-Billy love square (I know. I have strange taste.

Yes! Preach it! The Allans are amazing. Mrs. Allan is a wonderful role model and friend to Anne.

Even though they’ve deviated from the books in terms of Shirbert development. I wouldn’t necessarily expect a romance in terms of their first kiss happening in season 3. TV dramas love complications and the books did provide canon complications in the form of Christine and the form of Roy. So I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we see something similar. Granted these both come romantic angst so I’ll be all for it.

That’s true. If Anne with an E can gain a little more stability, we could be looking at a 2-3 more seasons of will they-won’t they. They seem to be taking the aging of the characters pretty slowly, so I wonder if a Jerry-Gilbert-Anne-Ruby conflict is on the horizon.

Alternatively, they could throw Billy into the mix. I don’t know if you remember, but in the books (Anne with an Island) Billy proposes to Anne through Jane. Of course, the Billy in the books was ridiculously shy and not a total jerk. But It would be interesting to see Moira Walley-Beckett take on the adage “boys tease girls because they like them”. Somehow I don’t think she’d side with people justifying bullying as normal guy “crush” behavior.

They’ve changed a lot of the music in season 2, I’ve noticed. Disappointing. And I do feel sorry for the Netflix only viewers. They don’t know what they’re missing!

I haven’t watched Season 2 on Netflix yet, but that is disappointing. I get that it’s sometimes necessary and it’s not always totally noticeable, but sometimes it’s just jarring.

I’ll stick with my recorded off of Channel 4 versions, I think. Adverts and all 😉

Actually that’s why I liked the editing. It was very smooth when they transitioned from audience perspective to ‘On Ice perspective’. The Stars on Ice broadcast never had that.

Yeah, apparently a LOT of people liked that. I guess I’m just not one of them.

Yes! I’ll always laugh at the some fans who project their modern beliefs onto characters set in the past as if that validates their hate. They reject any notion that perspectives were generally different back then.

Yes! That is one of my pet hates too when people criticise stories set in the past... I can understand that some aspects may be ‘sanitized’ for modern sensitivities, if for nothing else, because it may have a negative impact on the numbers and reviews, and show/movie producers have to think the financial aspects too - as much as fans don't like it (but without money our favourite shows and movies would not be made, so there is that too...).

But to criticise characters for not being beacons of modern ‘correct’ values is just a bit too rich and dare I say, arrogant...

Sorry, forgot to put the link of the source. Here it is : (x)And nope, no download link yet. I guess we'll have to wait for the DVD release in march. *sigh*
