Watching earth from space from NASA’s space station live a few days ago was mesmerising and also unnerving. Other humans precariously floating, nothing below their astronaut boots except that all-too-familiar view of earth. A rock poised and spinning in space, surrounded by vast nothingness. Dark matter. A voluntary hiatus from social media and an involuntary hiatus from social life - due to reasons of pandemicity - made for a decent period of painting and just being. With no expectations, no deadlines, no workshops, no external pressures one can paint freely. Now we just wait for a return to normal; our life prepandemic.
