“Come on, it’s New Year’s Eve, you can’t spend the whole party hiding in the bathroom!”
“I’ve heard ‘Auld Lang Syne’ six times tonight and it’s only 11:30.”
Bring Me Down | Cali&Lex
Lex is silent as they walked to his apartment, Cali moving on instinct more than any sense of direction. Her hand slowly loosens its grip on Lex’s arm, and drifts absently to grab hold of his hand. She has tears on her cheeks she isn’t aware of crying, and her head is full of nothing but white noise. She can’t think about what happened or she’ll lose control. Lex’s hand in hers is the only thing grounding her right now, but even then, she feels lost, adrift, like she doesn’t have a home to go back to. Like she doesn’t know who her pack is.

Piper confidently walked into The Conduit, feeling like herself for the first time in a while. She was wearing a tight, red dress and black pumps looking far too old for her age. This usually meant free drinks though, so she didn’t really care. The place looked amazing, much less grungy than usual and extremely bright. Everyone looked lovely and no one looked sad, this was a first for the town in a long time.
Piper made her way to the bar to grab herself a drink and then went to sit in a vip area by herself, she didn’t really mind the loneliness it was actually quite refreshing watching everyone just be..normal. Suddenly, she heard someone walk up behind her seat, she turned her head to the side and let her voice spill out like velvet, “If you’d like to join all you have to do is ask”
“- I could always stub it out on your pretty skin, if you’d prefer.”
The Conduit was, as usual, dressed to the nines--much like most of its occupants of the evening. He had, as usual, taken up residence by the bar with the promise of a steady stream of drinks flirted out of the bartender. It was the matter of moments before someone else had approached the bar beside him, and Donnie was smirking slyly (mostly to himself) before he even got a good look at them. “Well, hello.”

She shouldn’t have come, Cali thought, the neon flashing of the strobe lights tattooing a beat behind her eyelids. She could hear the click of claws on her glass, and closed her eyes, fearing the red glow was coming from her and not the fixtures pulsing throughout the club. Deep breaths. Maybe Ellis would get her text before she lost control. Maybe maybe maybe.
Why had she come? This was the worst idea. Eyes still closed, she swayed to the beat of the music, and held on to the threads tethered in her chest, her packs, here, with her. It would be okay. She would be okay.
