I am absolutely ecstatic with all the changes in my life.

I was poached by a recruiter from an MBB and after 9 interviews of mock Ted Talks, behavioral assessments, personal experience assessments, critical thinking case studies, mathematical / economical case studies — I’m proud to say I landed a job and accepted the offer! The company has a 5% candidate acceptance rate and I’m immensely honored to have been chosen. It was always my dream to travel and be a global consultant. This position offers me just that! They have a presence across all industries and across the globe. Heck, I can work in Asia for a couple months if I just ask. On a day to day, I get to travel to the New York City and Washington D.C.., office whenever I want (fully expensed) and travel at my leisure to my client sites across the nation. I can’t believe I get to work with Fortune 500 companies and billionaires. The network I build will be expansive and I’ll be connected to the crémé de la crémé - I WANT TO SCREAM OF EXCITEMENT.

Amidst planning two weddings and a major career change, my crazy ass self signed on a second property 2 weeks before the wedding. The community amenities, the build, the location, the roof top terrace - is everything I could have dreamt of. Although there are major renovations planned - it’s still home. I never thought I’d be in a position to own multiple properties/ rentals at age 28. I’m truly grateful that my hard work and hustle is starting to reap benefits.

Thankfully, my current company is happy for the changes in my life and the career opportunity. I didn’t realize I accrued 3 weeks of PTO and they’re allowing me to enjoy every bit of it while choosing a roll off date that I desire. I’ve already planned a trip to Miami, Denmark, London, Italy, and Paris for those days.

I’m going to be tight on money these next 6 months after these major investments, wedding ceremonies, and travel plans, but I know it’ll be all worth it in the long run. I just have to keep pushing, be naturally curious, and work hard. Cheers to a fruitful 28th year. 🥂

Haven’t been feeling myself lately. I have terrible anxiety over potential feelings of regret around decisions I have yet to make or come to fruition. Sounds silly huh?

You shouldn’t be afraid of losing people. You should be afraid of losing yourself trying to please those people.

I learned a lot of valuable life lessons this weekend. Excuse my word vomit as I try to articulate my thoughts…

I met SO many successful professionals in New York and they all have an unphased, go-getter attitude that truly takes courage in a society of conformity. Couple things I took to heart were:

Friends are merely chapters in your life. Don’t feel bad for not having a 20+ year relationship with friends. People come and go. You will have maximum 1-3 close friends and that’s okay. Other people are temporary. Keep them as “friends”, “acquaintances” or whatever you want to label it as. Keep them in your network. Don’t burn bridges. But there’s also no need to worry about them.

People are less invested in you than you think. Many people don’t care about your success as it elicits a sense of jealousy (which is a very natural reaction). Don’t inform people of the process, just inform them of the output.

Keep your parents informed of your decisions but don’t ever let them make the decision. They will always be happy for you if you’re happy. There is no need to pester them with minute details of your struggles. Parents will always want to keep you close. But when the opportunity arrives and you want to go, you’ll know what’s best for yourself. You’ll need to let go of your parents safety net in order to grow. It’ll be uncomfortable. It’ll feel lonely without support, but that’s okay. You are more capable than you think when it comes to dealing with issues.

Don’t complain. Complaining doesn’t change a situation. Push through it. Take action to position yourself in a better path and let it pass. Complaints don’t get you anywhere.

No ramen after the age of 30. 😂

There’s a certain reputation for successful women in the industry and I need to accept it as it is. I’m not bitchy or bossy. I’m selective and have high expectations. People can take it or leave it.

I’m honestly so blessed and grateful for the legal, financial, and career support I’ve received through the years.

I worked at my current firm for 3 years and have gotten a 10+% bump every year. The VP and Principals put me on a fast track for promotion. I was promoted last year and they’re promoting me again in 6 months. I was honestly expecting a 5% raise since I only sold $100M worth of work versus the previous year where I sold $210M. Yet, they still gave me another 12.8% raise this year.

I also reassessed the value of my house and learned that my house went up $110k in value in the past year and a half and was able to gain an additional 15% equity on that alone.

Next step is to work with my financial advisor to readjust my 401k contributions. My firm does a 100% match on 6% of our pay and I need to ensure it’s invested to stock options in passionate about (outside of the couple thousands of dollars I invest in for leisure on WeBull 😂)

I need to interview and befriend a lawyer who could strategically and expertly advise me in any legal situations. I need a lawyer who I can trust as I continue to build my empire.

I learned through an industry entrepreneur that the 4 types of people in your life you need are:

Mechanic

Accountant

Financial advisor

Lawyer

This pro tip has helped me build a strong foundation for the years to come. The sacrifices I make now will reap benefits in the future. Hoping the good news keep flowing in this year. Cheers to 2022 🥂

I spoke with a friend the yesterday and she said there are two types of people when it comes to attention. Those who constantly seek attention versus those who naturally attract attention. Those who seek attention will always be mindful of those who naturally attract it.
