A String Of Red
─── Many ponder the notion of soulmates;
an arrow that is never straight, never perfect
threading a line through lifetimes.
Some call it fate, a promise to cross paths
by a thin infinite tether wrapped around two souls,
disbelieved to the unawakened eye.
In a different time on a cliff overlooking a dark sea,
a gentle whisper resting on the wind,
where lies an unexplainable call from the abyss.
A gift of the present is one small fleeting moment;
the tether is felt but never touched,
there lies a love deepened, understood and held;
eternally intertwined by that invisible string of red.
Words once spoken like a spell, “come back to me”,
are what cradle this everlasting bond.
