The second thing that really irks me is fans saying things like "this isn't the real Darren" as if they can discern from one interview (that was all of 30 seconds long) whether something is in keeping with his personality or not. Darren is a public figure. All we know of him is what he chooses to show to us. He's fairly open with his fans, but we can't mistake that for knowing the "real Darren," whatever the fuck that may be. I've also seen people say that he's lost his "fun-loving side" And to those people, I'd ask you to go watch the Imogene Q&A done just a few days ago and then get back to me. He's still the same goofball. Just because he's not silly 100% of the time, he's not the same Darren? The poor man is flying all over the globe doing show after show because he loves what he does and he wants to soak up all the opportunities he's been given. Forgive the guy if he's a little jet lagged and maybe skips a knock knock joke or two, you know? I'm a huge Darren stan and I'm guessing a lot of you are too which is why you follow me, so preaching to the choir, but yeah. It upsets me.
*In case anyone is angered by this - I'm not in that's blog's askbox asking them to stop. They have their opinions, I have mine. I don't have to like it, but I'll leave them to it. Similarly, although I encountered A LOT of Darren hate and wank in the Darren tag today, I didn't reblog those posts to argue with the people who posted them, because what's the point? It's not how I roll. But on the off chance you clicked through to this post and happen to disagree with me, why don't you take this wise advice and keep scrolling. Okay? Okay.
