Hello, how do you save photos for the web (tumblr, facebook)? Do you have any tested settings for size, sharpening, etc.? Also i would like to know if you use any lens filters? Thanks
Export your file as a jpeg, at 1280x1024, and reduce the quality about 20%. I don’t mess with sharpening too much, other than bringing the global amount up to about 30 in LR, when I am editing portraits (chest up); there’s probably a much more involved, better way to sharpen, so if anyone has a recipe, please write in. However, I have found the sharpest photos I take, are the ones that are lit the best. Light is everything :-)
I own a ND.6 filter, as well as a polarizing filter, both by B+W; I also used to have a 9-stop ND Fader by Light Craft Workshop…which was awesome… but it got stolen 2 years ago; i used that all the time when shooting on the beach, especially; it allowed me to do shallow DOF with a slower shutter speed. I should re-buy that filter, the more I think about it…
I also own the first 3 filters created by a new company called Mount July. If you wanna know how I get some of the colors ‘splashed’ on a few of my images, that’s the secret ;-)
