The discovery of the Lake of Souls marked the beginning of a great schism within Alfheim. The Light Well harnessed the power of the Light, and the elves would spent their days basking in its glow became obsessed with their newfound power. They found new ways to express themselves through art and invention. It was a time of great prosperity... for half of Alfheim. Once the realm's Living Desert began to wither, the other half the realms costed the deem the cost of progress too high, spawning the violent circle of conflict that continues to this day.
