“Nick!” You screamed bloody murder.
The door ripped open and the intruder was caught unawares by your orc protector. He tackled whoever it was and you turned on the lamp quickly.
You were panicking, breathing heavy and trying not to be triggered...but it was an elf. You knew it was an elf.
Nick stopped.
“What are you doing?!!!” You yelled.
“I know her.” Nick replied.
The elf looked at you from her position on the ground, pinned down by the Orcs strong hands.
This wasn’t the same elf who had attacked you, you’d never even seen her before.
“Oh gods.” Tears sprung to your eyes and you began to hyperventilate. It brought back too much.
“Y/N? Y/N, it’s okay!” Nick hot up and went over to you. “She’s not going to hurt you.You are safe.”
“N-nick.”
He once again wrapped his arms around you and rubbed your back in soothing circles.
“You must think that I’m so weak and pathetic...” You breathed.
“You aren’t a cop, you didn’t ask for this:to be put in danger. You were just doing your job. I don’t think you are weak at all, I think what you did was brave.”
The elf eyed you, confused.
“You really know her?” You asked Nick.
“This is Tikka.” He said and turned to her. “Why are you here?”
“It isn’t safe.” She said in English.
“She knows...She is leaving the city tomorrow.”Nick said, the tone of his voice denoting a hint of sadness.
“Tomorrow isn’t soon enough, we must leave now. They are after her.” Tikka snapped at him. “Call Ward, we must get her out of here. Now!”
“I don’t understand.” Nick said.
You furrowed your brows.
“Listen, I can’t even walk right now, how in the world am I supposed to-”
She came up to you and touched you head, chanting.
You could understand her perfectly, but why was she putting a spell on you?
Something akin to ice swept through your entire body, like the cold one might feel after coming into a warm room after being outside in the snow. You shivered but then warmth replaced it. You sighed in relief and she retracted her hand, almost falling down.
“Tikka!”Nick gasped and caught her. He looked up at you. “What did she do?”
“I don’t-” You began to answer, not actually knowing what she had done. But you didn’t have any pain. It was all gone. Each and every bruise, cut, or break was just...fixed.
“She’s a bright?” You asked.
“Yeah, so is Daryl.” Nick responded.
You decided not to ask how that happened, it would probably be a long story.
“She healed me.”
He looked at you closer. “You are so beautiful.” His ears twitched. You blushed.
“No time for flirting!” Tikka spat. “Need her safe.”
Your blush intensified and if Nick’s skin was paler, you knew he would’ve been blushing as well.
You got up by yourself for the first time in a while. It felt so off to be using your legs again, even more odd that they didn’t hurt.
“I’ll change and then we can go.” You said, standing on your own.
Tikka seemed alright with that but insisted she stay in the room while you changed because the window was non-existent. Nick stood outside the room to call Daryl.
“Why me?” You asked Tikka in Ovüsi.
“You do not know?” She answered back.
“I know about the prophecy, yes. And I know that i’m the only person to have read it in its entirety.” You told her, trusting her because she was friends with Nick.
She scoffed. “You cannot even see what is in front of you.”
You weren’t sure what she meant by that, but you put it out of you mind to focus on getting out of town alive and intact.
You stepped out of the room with just the clothes on your back and your phone. You had to get a message to Kandomere somehow. Nick looked at you, eyes wandering over your form.
“We are picking up Ward on the way. He isn’t happy about this.” Nick told you and Tikka.
“He has no choice, it was foretold.” Tikka answered and subtly looked over at you.
You finally understood what she meant...and it freaked you out.
“Y/N? Are you alright?” Nick asked.
You weren’t okay, but you couldn’t let him know.
“I’m fine.” You replied with a fake smile. “Let’s go.”
Tikka sat next to you in the backseat of the squad car, looking out for danger. You spaced out while looking out of the window, wondering what the hell you had gotten yourself into.
