Lightbox sketch dump part 1!
Last month's trip to LA was so awesome!!
First pic is some of what I was doing on the plane to LA. I did a lot of other sketches during my commute there and at the airports but we'll see if they make the cut on my future collages.
Second pic is of some animals from the amazing dioramas at LA's Natural History Museum! I'm so glad @lemonfroq and I set aside a day before LBX started to explore the area. We also got coffee at a cafe with some friends and visited Gallery Nucleus. Which btw if you're from the midwest like me and have never been there... it is a store, not just an art gallery. Proceed with caution. We had to be so brave and limit ourselves to one purchase since we hadn't been to LBX's artist alley yet. I was able to snag the last copy they had of Dana Terrace's book "Skin & Bones" which has already been huge source of inspiration for me :]

Unsurprising to everyone I think my favorite drawing moments at Lightbox were when I got to just sit at the airports and draw people. I got to LAX stupid early for a multitude of reasons, so I had plenty of time to people watch before heading home to Detroit!
