I had some collage fun last week or so :] The Artemis II photos really inspired me.... Space is so damn cool

Also for the backdrop I used a charcoal (i think?) stick I found laying around and then sprayed it with hairspray to keep it from smudging. My sketchbook REEKS now.......

Meet Nyomi! She's the protagonist of the story I've been slowly chipping away at called "Til Death Do We Sk8". Nyomi's dream is to win the Spaceskating championship but a rough and poorly timed break up throws a whole new wrench into her endeavors. Her ex Jodie (the gal with the crazy hair in my previous posts) is determined to do anything she can to get back at Nyomi and prevent her from achieving her dreams.

Lightbox sketch dump part 2!

Unsurprising to everyone I think my favorite drawing moments at Lightbox were when I got to just sit at the airports and draw people. I got to LAX stupid early for a multitude of reasons, so I had plenty of time to people watch before heading home to Detroit!

Something I've been thinking about a lot lately is that moment in Matrix Revolutions when neo and trinity are fighting for their lives flying through the most densely populated area of sentinels and other machines, and then after everything they've been through and all the work they've done for the last 2 1/2 movies they suddenly find themselves able to break through and see the real sky for the first time ever. And the sky is a brilliantly beautiful pink and blue sunrise that the matrix could never truly replicate 🥺 that's what it's all about

But ye I'm using my favorite movies to help keep my head up in these trying times 🧡

Long time no post!! October was a crazy busy month for me. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things soon but for now- here's my full piece for @edgeofhopezine !

This was the first time I've ever co-ran a fanzine before and man oh man was it a lot of fun! I cannot begin to describe how much of a joy it was to collaborate with so many amazingly skilled creatives for Pacific Rim's 10th Anniversary!
