― the last thing he wanted to do was upset her anymore than he already had prior to her going out to patrol the city. however, upon hearing from one of the other legionnaires that she had gotten hurt, he showed up in the med bay area of their headquarters. “i know you’re mad at me, but i just wanted to check in on you.” the daxamite hoped she didn’t send him away, but it’s what he expected.

thanks to brainy’s message to the future. the legion was able to send a large populace of earth-38 to earth-1 just as their counterparts had done in the present. it wasn’t enough, they still LOST people. garth sits on one of the trundle beds in the refugee centre on the other earth looking at an old picture of him, ayla, and mekt. mekt hadn’t made it, it wasn’t like evacuating prisons was a priority. 

garth traces the form of his big brother in the picture. there was a time when he would worship the ground mekt walked on. but just a year ago he’d been the one that put mekt in prison.  when he looks, imra is there watching him from afar. he sighs and holds out his hand for her. their romance is a secret for now. for mon-el’s sake. he’s lost one brother and doesn’t think he’s strong enough to lose another. he shows imra the picture. “ is it bad that even with all of the terror he’s caused, I still...I still mourn him? “

          kara never expected to see imra again -- not that she didn’t want to, it’s not that at all. she just figured, at the time, that the legion would remain in their time until it was safe to return for brainiac-5, which in turn would return winn to his family, but they’re here now and she’s glad. ❝ it’s good to see you again, imra, ❞ kara offers the other a small smile, though the rest of her body sways awkwardly, unsure if she should give the woman a hug or leave it be. ❝ please tell me that you’re just here for a visit and not because the future is in jeopardy again. ❞ regardless of the current situation, kara would help. she always does.

“Don’t let anyone look you in the eye as they walk by, you must be the one in charge.” Or at least pretend she was if they wanted her to get in. Maggie was already regretting having said yes to this favor. She was sure to get in trouble if someone found out she had let an alien from the future inside the precinct and directly into their database. Then again, Imra had promised she’d say she was working alone if she got caught. Which she had insisted she wouldn’t. Maggie adjusted Imra’s uniform out of nervousness and then smiled. “Ready to go in?”

GARTH STOOD IN FRONT OF THE TALL GLASS WINDOWS in the aft portion of the legion cruiser looking down upon earth. it was so CHAOTIC compared to his home planet of winath. at least what winath used to be before Brainiac took over. he heard footsteps behind him and turned with a smile to see Imra. she always seemed to inspire warmth out of him even at the coldest of times. “ hey, mon-el’s on patrol and winn’s in the lab working on some new weapon...so it’s just us holding down command tonight.”
