The thing about Star Trek that I find the hardest to suspend my disbelief about isnt technology or aliens or less convincing backdrops or CGI - it’s the total lack of seatbelts anywhere. A ship gets hit or jostled and people go flying across the bridge, fall down entire floors in the engineering bay, whatever. And of course this should lead to some serious injuries and therefore safety adaptations but no, unless its specifically plot convenient. Just like, sit down and put on a seatbelt. They’re already sitting down half the time. Or the ship gets hit and less than 5 seconds later “we have a report of fourteen injuries, none serious” - who has time to report in those 5 seconds? Who is judging how serious the wounds are? And why is it only ever the bridge crew and medics and some engineering who are important? Idk, I’d be interested in a Trek show about like, the repair crew people, or literally any of the hundreds-to-thousands of people aboard a starship that aren’t the ten or so in charge.
