Lighthouse, Poole is the largest regional Arts Centre in the UK, presenting a broad and diverse programme of live music, theatre, dance, comedy and spoken word in our three venues and film and visual art in our cinema and gallery.

They are looking for an exceptional programmer to lead and develop their programme of received work and as such will have substantial experience and knowledge of the UK arts scene and of both subsidised and commercial work for mid and large-scale venues.

Vamos Theatre presents Finding Joy

Joy is 83 today: she's feisty, loves to dance, and is losing her memory. Her grandson Danny is rebellious, bright and always getting into trouble. When Danny decides to look after Joy, they discover a shared playfulness and growing love. But is that enough to face the challenges ahead? Approaching the subject of dementia with humour and humanity, award-winning Finding Joy has performed to audiences throughout the UK and worldwide. Praised by press and public alike for its consummate full mask skills, engaging storytelling, physical dexterity and emotional insight, the production continues to involve and engage audiences across borders and boundaries.

Participation opportunities at Lighthouse

Camden People’s Theatre are bringing their festival of trans, non-binary and gender queer theatre, Come As You Are to Lighthouse on 29th November – 1st December.

There are loads of events to come and get involved in!

Are you an up-and-coming artist exploring gender in your work?

The Come As You Are Festival Scratch Night is a night of explosive new work from local trans, non binary and gender queer artists. The event will feature three 20 minute performances of new ideas in development. Expect brand new works in progress, never-before-seen ideas and some of the freshest work from the most innovative and exciting local theatre-makers, based around the themes of 'Come As You Are’.
