Does the subject of safety ever occur to you when setting up your music gear?  I would say that for an average musician there is actually very little to worry about.  They have their power cords all routed into a power strip and they keep anything conductive away from areas where can cause an accident.  Perhaps you use speakers and amp in your system; well in this case they are either sitting on the floor or they are mounted into the ceilings somewhere.  Still, there is not much that will concern a musician in terms of safety.  Now, a DJ who is into advanced lighting and who uses amps to power speaker systems might have to use more caution when setting things up.
