Not me being normal about this chili pepper grillz! lol
ok so this is a whole different category from the gold tooth post i made earlier. this one's not trying to look expensive or subtle at all, it's literally a tiny red and green chili just sitting on a tooth like it's supposed to be there
and i kind of love that grillz can go this direction too. like the whole genre gets reduced to "gold" or "diamond" but there's this whole novelty lane where it's just. whatever shape you want. a chili, a star, whatever random thing makes you laugh when you think about wearing it
few things i think are actually interesting about this!
it's not trying to be luxury. most grillz talk is about karats and diamonds and resale value type stuff. this is just fun. it exists purely because it's funny and cute, not because it's an investment piece. which honestly is refreshing
shape over material here. with gold/silver grillz the whole point is the material and how it catches light. with something like this the material (looks like enamel or resin finish) is secondary, the SHAPE is the whole joke. it only works because it's a chili and not because it's expensive
it still needs to be custom fit though. and this is the part that doesn't change no matter how novelty the design gets. even a tiny chili shaped piece needs to be molded to your actual tooth or it's gonna sit weird and loose. novelty doesn't mean lower quality, it just means more fun with the design part
honestly this kind of piece feels less like "jewelry" and more like an accessory the same way a fun phone charm or a weird pin is an accessory. it's not trying to be serious. it's just supposed to make you smile a little extra when you catch it in the mirror
anyway custom piece here is by datuwrks, they make novelty shapes like this alongside the regular gold/silver stuff, all still molded from an actual dental impression so it fits properly instead of just sitting on top of your tooth!
