Jim Sullivan - S/t (Light in the Attic Records) @lightintheatticrecords #lightintheatticrecords #jimsullivan I'm 99% done with my last course of the semester and I've got a BIG pile of amazing submissions and reviews to share with you starting today. I'm sharing one of two Jim Sullivan albums that my friends at Light in the Attic Records here in Seattle shared with me this month. For those of you that don't know, Jim Sullivan was a pretty special old-school country/folk artist that had an excited, though somewhat short-lived, and still-confusing end. Jim put out an album called U.F.O. that caught the attention of musicians and labels alike back in 1969. His second album, this S/T one, was released on Hugh Hefner's short-lived label imprint and gained him an even bigger, though cult, following. It's a little more upbeat, it adds some horns and a little smoother production, and it has some jams that I'm certain you've already heard, even if you don't think you have. Light in the Attic reissued this album and If The Evening Were Dawn after a throng of new fans fell in love with Jim via their reissuing U.F.O. a while back. What's even more interesting about these reissues is the story behind them. Not only was Jim a great musician gone long before his time, but he disappeared from the face of the earth and there still is no explanation for what happened to him, where he went, and why he was never heard from again. Jim drove from LA to Nashville and at some point stopped in the desert to spend the night. His car, his records, his guitar, and his belongings were found but he never was, despite years of searches and interested parties trying to solve the case. Now if I haven't piqued your interest with the amazing album, you should at LEAST be interested in learning more about that story too! #vinylrecords #vinylcollectionpost #vinyls #recordcollector #vinyladdict #vinyljunkie #onmyturntable #nowspinning #vinyligclub #vinyllovers #vinylclub #vinylcollective #vinylexams #vinyl #vinylporn #vinylcollector #recordcollection #folk #country #oldcountry #americana (at Seattle, Washington) https://www.instagram.com/p/B56QbpJJq6Y/?igshid=1rl6zamd3ml75
