Lenny's lips part in surprise as he looks at her on the other side of the doorway, drenched from the rain. She walked here directly from the studio, forgetting her umbrella, forgetting her purse, forgetting her coat.
After the show, Gordon had come into her dressing room, kissing her sweetly, giving her a grand speech on how she changed his life. How he wants to be with her. "I know this is sudden. And out of the blue. Take all the time you need to think about it," he'd said. "And in the meantime - " He produced a ring from his pocket, a beautiful gold band with an enormous round diamond.
"Tell me not to marry him," she repeats. "Tell me now. Because if you don't, then tomorrow I'm saying yes, and you and I will be done forever. Because I can't spend the rest of my life like this. I can't spend the next forty, fifty years married to him and sneaking around with you. I will not be my ex-husband.
"He's good to me, Lenny. He's kind and handsome, and he cares about me, and he doesn't deserve what I'm doing to him. He doesn't deserve a woman who can't love him. But when I'm with him, all I can think about is you. As hard as I try to love him, my heart is already yours.
"And don't give me this bullshit about not being able to give me a certain kind of life or about hurting my reputation because I don't fucking care! I had that kind of life before, and it blew up in my face.
"All I want is you. All I want is to be with you and not have to sneak around and pretend that we're just friends.
"So tell me now. Tell me not to marry him. Just...please, Lenny," she whispers, her throat tightening, tears blurring her vision as she looks up at him.
She blinks, tears falling so she can see him clearly. He reaches for her, his thumb brushing a tear from her cheek. "Don't marry him," he breathes so quietly she might not have heard it if she didn't see his lips move.
Her heart leaps, but she watches him cautiously. "And we...we can do this for real?" She whispers.
Lenny nods his head slowly, and she finally steps into the apartment, kissing him as he closes the door behind her.
Hey Pantheon! You sexy beast, come follow me. {I mean my account. If you follow me around who knows what will happen?}
Pantheon quirked a brow at the man as he was called a sexy beast. Never the less Pantheon made sure to hit the ‘follow’ button for good this time. After having done so the Spartan realized that his furious clicking had broken the fail thing. With a sigh he got up and got ready to skyfall to acquier a new mouse from somewhere.
