Dnd Spells: Lightning Arrow

Lightning Arrow is a level 3 Transmutation spell unique to Ranger. Casting Time is a Bonus Action which you can take immediately after hitting or missing a target with a ranged attack using a weapon Range is Self Requires a Verbal and Somatic Component Duration is Instantaneous.

As your attack hits or misses the target the weapon or ammunition you're using transforms into a lightning bolt. Instead of taking any damage or other effects from the attack the target takes 4d8 Lightning damage on a hit or half as much damage on a miss. Each creature within 10 feet of the target then makes a Dexterity daving throw taking 2d8 Lightning damage on a failed save or half as much damage on a successful one.

The weapon or ammunition then returns to its normal form.

Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot: The damage for both effects of the spell increases by 1d8 for each spell slot level above 3.

Friends… I’ve been struggling with something for the last couple of weeks. For the Trial of the Ancestors league, I decided last minute to make a shift in my normal routine and start the league as a Lightning Arrow Raider. I spent time right before the league launch leveling one as a test, and then ultimately decided I could live with the consequences of playing a much faster… but much squishier…

Ancestors League - Day One - This morning I talk about my first day leveling as Lightning Arrow Raider for the Trials of the Ancestor League in Path of Exile.

Good Morning Friends! I am taking a break from leveling in Path of Exile to bang out a blog post. Yesterday at 3 pm my time the servers launched for the Trial of the Ancestors league, and I did not hop in the queue nearly fast enough apparently. It took me about fifteen minutes to actually get in, but once I did things were fairly smooth. Granted I did not risk logging out to the character screen…
