Part 2: Lightning Point - aka Alien Surf Girls 👽🛸

I want to believe there’s more shows out there like this Aussie one season hidden gem from the 2000s.

This show really hangs 10 when it comes to teen drama, sprinkled with alien mystery, and of course surfing 🏄

This show was produced by Jonathan M. Shiff - same guy who produced H2O Just Add Water, Mako Mermaids, and Ocean Girl, so if your a fan of these shows like me, this show is meant for you!

Why this Show Appeals to Therians and Otherkin?

As a selkie, the beach theme and surfing is why appealed to me most. So my fellow sea/beach creatures both therian and otherkin may enjoy this for the sand and waves!

For otherkin specifically, anyone who falls under the alienkin umbrella I imagine would probably dig this show for its otherworldly themes ✨

As someone who grew up around UFOs and has a fascination for them plus a longing to explore the universe, I love shows that feature aliens like Lightning Point (even though I’m not alienkin myself), so I hope some otherworldly creatures may enjoy this show from that angle ♡

Multiverse AU Luminians:

Species summary: technologically advanced, alien society that does not understand human emotions. (until they take human form and feel them for the first time) two curious, alien girls travel to earth (earth in another universe) to actually surf real waves because Lumina doesn’t have any real water. Luminians in their original universe, had arranged, marriages based on test results. (of course that doesn’t apply to the story) and their natural form looks like a ball of energy.

Power description:

Plasma, transformation, and shapeshifting: their natural form is a glowing ball of plasma that can float, move around, and Zap things. They can shape shift from this form to look like any species which is most typically human. The radio waves given off by a microwave forces them to be in their plasma a state, so they cannot be around a microwave while it’s being used.

Energy control, and manipulation: they can absorb energy from other objects or people, and transfer it into themselves or another Luminian. They only do this when they’re dying.

Long distance tracking: they have the ability to locate living beings that are dear to them, by just thinking about them

recharging: they do not need sleep, but every day they have to spend some time surrounded in electricity in order to recharge
