It wouldn’t be Teddy’s first choice. He’d rather maim and escape than actually take someone’s life. Let them be arrested, go to prison. But if it was James, Albus, Lily? Or Victorie, or Dominique, or Louis or Nan or Grandad or Harry or Ginny or any of the other members of Teddy’s big family?

Teddy couldn’t not do everything in his power to protect them. And if Teddy couldn’t incapacitate the attacker, or flee, then he’d have no choice but to kill.
