You do know that this is in direct reference to the upcoming Stonewall movie in which they are explicitly ignoring history in favour of casting the “hero” of the Stonewall riot as a cis white man right? This is about mainstream media choosing to INVENT a character who is the antithesis of the actual historical figure rather than representing her. And that is a big deal. Because if the movie is allowed to gain traction amongst the straight, cis, and/or white people who go to see it, who share it with the younger generation, who use it as some kind of educational “this is a movie everyone should see!”, who may very well argue it should get an Oscar, it represents a deliberate erasure of lgbtq+ history.

Sure you can ask. And if he says "No", you get on with your life and acknowledge that he doesn't have the responsibility of raising someone else's kids. Otherwise, you are calling for censorship. Which is less okay than "comedy I find offensive"

And of course you have the prerogative to boycott people you don't like. I don't see why anyone wouldn't? Boycotting Shane Dawson isn't going to have any effect though because he has too many fans. But who cares. If you don't like his comedy, don't watch his comedy. it is not Shane Dawson's job to make you happy or to save the world

Keep in mind, there’s a lot of ignorance and prejudice about how it’s presumed most religious folks PRACTICE their religion, and the discrimination comes from making those assumptions (Islamiphobia is particularly insidious this way).

The issue here is these "religious moderates" who live in ways that are alternative to what their holy books and common teachings actually say are very often apologists for fundamentalists. When I say "Islam is sexist", instead of helping to fight against sexism in Islam, they instead ally themselves with the fundamentalists and say "not all muslims are like that, stop being islamophobic!"

Naw man, not at all. The cis/trans thing doesn’t really play into it. The current running definition is your gender and other genders. Although many see it as being cool with two genital systems (male/female).
