Jacob sighs, his brows contorting in frustration as they often did any time he tried to converse with Leah. It was almost never a pleasant experience, though he wished that it could be. 

“Look, I was stupid okay? I didn’t like the idea of my life or my destiny or whatever you want to call it being controlled any more than it already has been. I thought I could make my own path, that I really wanted to, but I realize now that’s not exactly possible.”

Marcus was stuck in the hospital wing after sustaining an injury during practice. A bludger to the head required overnight observation.

“If the word disappointment even crosses your mind, I’ll never speak to you again.” Dick threatens between inhales and exhales. Smoking isn’t something he usually does - maybe it’s a response to the strict regimen he keeps himself on, maybe he’s just more stressed than usual today. Whatever the reason, he’d found himself a quiet spot outside to sneak a quick cigarette. “I mean it. DOn’t lecture me, because I don’t care.”

“No, no,” he corrects with a rather pointed and accusatory gaze. “The atrocious makeup job isn’t Aimee’s fault. It’s yours. You are the reason she even exists in the first place, after all.” 

Making sure to flash her the most sarcastic of smiles, he lets the false smile fade into a genuine one. Although annoyed that he now looks a bit like a clown, he mostly enjoyed spending time with Carol and her daughter. Desping being tempted to share the complaint that he now looks like a clown, he saves this comment for later. Aimee is currently within earshot and it wouldn’t do to upset her. “I know I do. But you know what’s missing? You could use some make up. C’mon, Ms. Ferris. It’s your turn for a makeover.”

Tula watched as one of her closest friends swam away from her, her chest fluttering with something akin to fear. She was a soldier at heart, she had never felt anxiety over a battle. On this day, however, if she were not careful the feeling could cripple her and leave her weak and vulnerable in the midst of a fight. 

The girl put up her walls and swam into the fight, pushing all thoughts of Kaldur to the back of her mind so that she could concentrate and not let the anxiety get a suffocating grip on her. 

When it is over, however, the battle won.... the anxiety returns with full force, wrapping it’s awful claws around her throat and choking her. Where was he? Where was Kaldur?
