Lightshine: (round/"soft" fluffy cat. has a splotch over his eye but i forget to draw it past the beginning.) Tortishell tom with yellow eyes. Darkthorn: (Spikey "messy"-fluffy cat. the emo one.) Dark Gray cat with green eyes. Mouseclaw/star: (dorky short furred boy with big ears and the wavy hair tuft that looks like a battered wife) pale brown tom with blue eyes. Blackstone: Short furred plain-looking cat that gets flung and dies. (Darkthorns dad) Black tom with blue eyes and a white mark on his chest. (Spotted pelt is the previous deputy that died and name isnt decided but shes a girl.)- white flecked she-cat with green eyes. Breezecloud: the random cat thats in the dark forest. Gray and white tom with (pending) eyes. Nettlestar: Girl tabby that is also died. Lightshines mom and the leader before Mousestar. Light brown tabby she-cat with dark stripes and (pending) eyes. (her design pictured isnt exact)

BASICALLY plot: Lightshine is an evil medicine cat who uses his high status to disregard clan rules and eventually forces his childhood friend Mouseclaw to become leader - whom he uses as a puppet for his own rule- by faking prophecies. His mothers trust in him and the clans grief of his father prevents them from noticing his ambition before it goes out of control- which it does, when he eventually kills his own mother in secret in order to finalize his plans of becoming pseudo-leader while also being the clan's prophet. Darkthorn was the third of their childhood friend trio, but didn't quite get the attention Mouseclaw or Lightshine got. They grow bitter from loneliness, and their pessimism helps them realize Lightshines evil intentions when he witnesses the way the tom attempts to court every cat he gets along with, and the suspiciously casual way he orders other cats around. (Mouseclaw has more story of his own but in this context he's Lightshines victim who gets taken advantage of by his "best friend", but is too caught up in his own familial issues and 'feeling of unworthiness' to realize how cruel the other really is)

Cold night with temperatures dropping into the single digits seemed like a good time for kicking the oven on and doing nachos. My wife picked up Lightshine Helles Lager by Wibby Brewing to pair with it. Perfect pairing! When he was just a kit, a warrior by the name of Sheeptail entered the nursery, clawed his mother’s face off, threatened and tried to murder his sisters, made a pregnant queen go into early labor, and nearly killed him. He was clawed across his face, ripping his ear off and tearing his eye out of its socket. He was in pain- so much pain, and he lost so much blood. He nearly died, yet, he survived. He was pampered by every cat in the clan, always wondering if he was okay. Being half-deaf and half-blind was no easy task but… he was young, and he had plenty of time to adapt.

In fact, he barely remembered the pain of Sheeptail’s claws dragging across his face, although he never forgot her hateful, vengeful words. He had never understood them, why she hated his mother so… But he did hear the whispers and see the glances and feel the pity… The guilt in Fallowpaw’s eyes, the scorn in Volepaw’s, and the occasional pity of Shinepaw’s. When he became an apprentice under Harestar, and they became warriors, he always wondered what part of the story he was missing. Even being ThunderClan’s leader’s apprentice felt like they were trying to make up for his traumatic experience as a kit. He wanted to understand the pity. It felt like it was more than the “you are half-deaf and half-blind” kind of pity.

And so he asked, and he watched, and he learned. Learned who Sheeptail really was- his father, Loudnose’s, ex-mate, and was jealous that he had moved on to have kits with Newtpond. She had attacked her with the intent to kill, but Sheeptail’s sister, Echobounce, killed her before she could harm them past what she had already done. And he studied Sheeptail’s kits actions. He knew Volefang had bad blood in her, but he always thought Fallowpelt and Shineflower had good within them. He was upset but unsurprised when Volefang murdered Loudnose, but he was especially surprised when Fallowpelt revealed he had been spying for BoneClan.

Lightshine was perhaps the only one to forgive him. He knew what it was like to have that pressure surrounding you because of your kin. The two half-brothers grew close, especially as they became the last surviving of all their siblings. Lightshine was always hanging around with Fallowpelt and Brackenlily’s kits, earning the title of best uncle ever. His apprentices also loved him like another father. He grew up to be a great warrior, even if he could be quiet and knew too much without ever telling the world about it. He also knew a lot about his family, even extended. Like that Loudnose’s father was a kittypet named Freddy, that Crowwhisper, Lightshine’s step-niece’s mate, played a paw in the death of their former mate, Rowanstrike, and that Plumshiver, Fallowpelt’s son, was in a half-clan relationship with Minnowrose of RiverClan- who was the daughter of the half-ShadowClan RiverClan cat Shrewheart. He was always fascinated by his family’s history after he realized just how complicated and vast it was.
