lightsunderdoorways replied to your post: “Are people really that mad about composers not using key signatures………”:
I have no vested interest in using key sigs vs. not using them, but I’m curious: why do you say that a lack of one lets you intuit tonics naturally? I could assume an answer, but I’m interested in your thoughts.
ex in one mode I use (raag lalit), it has to be played in a certain order, which doesn’t include the tonic when ascending. A key sig would be completely false and misleadig, especially with a minor second being used and both the perfect and augmented fourth. An instrumentalist can usually figure out a tonic anyway, so might as well not be extra befuddling with an unrelated key signature! (Which is why they aren't used in South Asian music anyway - you give the raag which dictates the tones and their order ascending and descending including necessary pauses and something like extensions around certain notes.)
lightsunderdoorways answered your question:help me pick out a backpack they’re all so cute ...
blue raspberry is my favorite besides the clear… i actually like the clear best but i’m worried it wouldn’t be durable?
yeah someone mentioned to me that they've had backpacks made of that material before that didn't hold up well. also i realized it'd probably be a bad idea cause i'd probably have my laptop in it soooo
