two Liijuan doodles in different styles! and slightly different degrees of finished. v proud of the pose on the right-side drawing.
i haven’t drawn a single thing in months. have this sort of noticably out of practice, artistic drought-breaking notebook doodle of my beloved panda. she’s fluffy as hell, and can give you hell, too. also check out that tiny lil’ fang. totes cute.
Local Hunter Good At Hitting Things With Spear, Recognized By Gods, Becomes Conduit For Their Power
my gORLS
having three heirlooms on arvella is making leveling so much easier. i went from 30 to 40 in a day.
Guess who FINALLY got the Spirit of Eche’ro mount!!! That took like two weeks. So many bone fragments. So many. *quiet internal screaming* This was a labor of love. Now my main has a kickass land mount that suits her. (The iron skyreaver is her air mount.)
I’ve just added tons of history, detail, and depth to Liijuan, and have broken both her and myself in the process. I feel evil.
I doodled a Liijuan (minus the pauldrons) in my German and PoliSci classes just earlier.
Tomorrow, and once I’m finished with homework, I’ll be playing so much Legion as her. The Highmountain quests are already fun as heck.
Liijuan! Go go go :D
Full Name:
Liijuan Petalpaw
Gender and Sexuality:
Female, and her sexuality is currently undecided. However, she is probably some kind of bi/pan or the like. (Because that opens up more options for roleplay.)
Pronouns:
she/her
Ethnicity/Species:
Pandaren of the red variety.
Birthplace and Birthdate:
Valley of the Four Winds, Pandaria. She was born to Qinpu and Zi Zi Petalpaw, who ran the gardens, and nursery and bouquet business, which belonged to the Petalpaw family for generations.
Guilty Pleasures:
I thought about this one for a long time, and I can’t tell if she would have any. Maybe she’ll develop some guilty pleasures the future, but for now, she has none.
Phobias:
Spiders. Liijuan gets along beautifully with most arthropods, but spiders seem like they might have a price on her head, they attack her so viciously. But she never did a thing to hurt them! She sometimes wonders if her blood is just that delicious. (She has not tasted enough blood from other people for her to come to an empirical conclusion on just how tasty hers is, so for now, this remains only a hypothesis.)
What They Would Be Famous For:
If, years from the present, the goblins invented TV, she would definitely become Azeroth’s Crocodile Hunter. However, that’s only if she ever retired from her current occupations of adventure and service to the Horde.
What They Would Get Arrested For:
Probably for unsuccessfully attempting what is described in this beautiful text post (http://massivelimestonecube.tumblr.com/post/143757933518/massivelimestonecube-massivelimestonecube). Yes, she would absolutely break into somebody’s home to help a neglected cat.
OC You Ship Them With:
I don’t have any other WoW OCs that are more than rough concepts and vague backgrounds (yet). Also, I don’t know how much I’d want to ship two of my own WoW OCs, unless it was to write things about, which I don’t see myself doing much of in the near future.
OC Most Likely To Murder Them:
Same deal here as with the last question.
Favorite Movie/Book Genre:
Cookbooks and history books. She loves cookbooks because she’s the type of foodie that will eat any dish you put in front of her–especially if it’s something she’s never had before. She relishes new experiences. Cookbooks are pages upon pages of potential new experiences. In her travels on Azeroth, she has never refrained from purchasing a new recipe or two from a cook or a vendor.
As for history books, now, she isn’t the type of history nerd that pours over history for the sake of the thing. It’s just that her favorite tales are the true ones. The tales that are almost too tall to believe, but that really happened nonetheless. Reality is often stranger than fiction, after all.
Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche:
This isn’t a cliche, but continuity errors, or plot developments that just don’t make sense, practically enrage her. It’s one of her strongest peeves.
Talents and/or Powers:
She can read animals like a book, and can befriend even the meanest of creatures. Though the fine points of people often escape her, she understands the fauna of the wild intimately and instinctively.
Why Someone Might Love Them:
She’s an adorable, big, fluffy panda. What isn’t there to love? Though, actually, for serious, she’s a loyal, just person who will always put in her best effort and push her own boundaries for those who have shown her kindness.
Why Someone Might Hate Them:
She is often slow with people, and thus could be easily misunderstood by someone who wants something from her, and has little time and an unforgiving heart. Though she tries to communicate well, she isn’t particularly good at doing so. Moreover, she can become overwhelmed by obligation, and lose motivation. There is many a helpful adventurer more reliable than her, despite how well she means.
How They Change:
As she has traversed the globe, fought for the Horde, and discovered that the world is far bigger and more complex than her childhood self could have ever hoped a world could be, she has begun to blossom.
Her cursed luck with plants meant she could never take care of her parents’ garden. It didn’t help that they would hardly let her leave the premises unless it was for business purposes. Even in her adolescence, when her folks acquiesced and let her take trips from the Valley to learn under the Lorewalkers, Pandaria was a small tank. (It should be noted that joining the Lorewalkers, nonetheless, had a strongly positive impact on her life. It was through chronicling Pandaria's ecology and the history thereof that she really developed her savvy with wildlife. She owes much to the Lorewalkers, and eventually, wants to work towards repaying them.) At home, she felt useless, stuck, and entirely stunted. If one knew her then, they would have known a quiet, lonely, unemotional girl who lacked much motivation or opinion.
Now, however, she has spent the past few years making all of all of Azeroth her home. She’s found a world which seems like it can never run out of new mysteries and new experiences. She’s discovered that her capacity for feeling and expression emotion, both negative and positive, is actually so much larger than she thought it was as a kid that it’s scared her. All the growing up she was never able to do while stuck in Pandaria, she has been barreling through now, headfirst.
Why You Love Them:
She’s my first serious WoW character, and, even in the mere few months I’ve played her, taught me so much about writing and roleplay, especially since I joined the Delvers with her. (As is commonly said, necessity is the mother of invention.) Plus, quite simply, pandaren are the best.
