Noli, his husband Kitchen Wizard, and their adopted lesbian daughter Neru
outlining my fic and going " the concept of (insert extremely horny and depraved activity being done by horny young adults egging each other on)" every 5 seconds.
these boys dont even know how horny they can get jesus
This is so dumb but. Saw that edit of Mon as Rapunzel. And Cassian as Flynn. And I just...does that make Syril...the horse that hates Cassian's guts and is out for his blood??
Oooh wait, I haven’t thought of that! Yes you’re right! Maximus actually does share similarities with Syril. Both has little sympathy for lawbreakers and become intensely fixated on pursuing the criminal
bonus:
I’ll put Krennic as Mother Gothel 💀
I saw that one EvaJacks post and my opinion on someone who hates Caraval!Jacks but loves Ouabh!Jacks: I think the difference highlights just how much he DIDN'T care about Donatella. He genuinely cared about Evangeline's well being, but Donatella was just a means to an end – being free from the curse, and his actions reflected that. Apollo and Aurora, did to Evangeline precisely what Jacks did to Donatella, and we know how they're treated. He's a faceted person, as with everyone, and his actions and the narrative is different.
Hating Donatella because HE was horrible, or anyone else for him, is so stupid. So is "if you liked Jacks but hate Apollo then you're a [bunch of problematic titles]" he is framed differently! Of course we'll like the male lead who saves our main character and treats her better! And of course, once you've seen the "better" side, still liking him despite his actions is normal, too. He's a book character, they can be liked even if they're the worst of the worst. And not to mention the people who like him for his awfulness, the ones who did even before Ouabh released.
If you don't like one series and do the other, going over to cause arguments with that separate fandom is so stupid like this isn't stantwt? "Jacks stans" this "Donatella stans" that "Caraval fans" this "Ouabh fans" that. Can we stop treating fandom spaces like the warzone that is stan twitter and be nice please and thank you. They're all technically zero dimensional because they're a shared thought. Imagine arguing over your favorite thought being better than someone else's?
Where was I going with this? I swear I had a point I forgot now.
(my. my whole post deleted itself. I'm so. rah.)
I agree with you anon! Legit, like, the difference in narratives between Caraval and OUABH highlighted how Jacks treated his respective love interests in regards to how he actually felt about them. He was obsessed with Tella but, as you said, she was a means to an end. Eva, however, was the start of something new. It's amazing what you can do with a character when putting them through someone else's eyes.
Hating any character because someone else was bad to them is certainly a take. A very hot one, bold even. Hating Tella bc Jacks was terrible to her isn't a solid reason, neither is hating Apollo and being expected to hate Jacks as well. There is no obligation here. This is fandom. There are no rules.
Rooting for Jacks bc he was the love interest that genuinely cared for Eva is valid. So is liking Jacks from his intro in Caraval. Shout out og Jacks lovers. Y'all stayed strong.
And I do agree that fandoms aren't meant to be warzones. This is certainly not stantwt. There's no shame in engaging in a conversation with someone who likes a character you hate or hates a character you like as long as it's civil. There's no need to divide ourselves. What's the point of it? I'm not going to shun you because your fave is Tella or Jacks. In fact, I'd probably sit down beside you bc I'd like to know why. And also your take on mint chocolate chip ice cream. We can get along!
They are zero dimension, just a thought, but I get why some people get really passionate about them. To some, having a favorite character is a more casual thing. To others, this character represents them. To defend the character is to defend themselves. There's no shame in that. I think we should be able to have arguments that don't result in hate.
If you remember your point, please drop it in my asks! You're takes here were so accurate, I'd love to hear more :)
