An OC profile from an ask meme

Credit goes to lorienleylines for originally writing this as an ask meme post (link here). I wanted to fill it out, but didn’t feel like waiting for someone to send me an ask so I could so so.

Full Name: Arvella Dampwick

Gender and Sexuality: Female(?), Ace(?). She knows. I don’t.

Pronouns: she/her

Ethnicity/Species: Goblin

Birthplace and Birthdate: Both her WoW and general RPG versions are in their 20s, though neither are sure of the exact year. The WoW version was born in Gadgetzan, and the general RPG version is born in a different place each game.

Guilty Pleasures: Honestly, she feels guilty when enjoying anything at all.

Phobias: These are more just general fears, but, being touched, having her routines or coping mechanisms derailed, people in general (conditionally), being pressed too thoroughly about her personal flaws, and a laundry list of other things.

What They Would Be Famous For: Several very dubiously justified murders (to put it politely), or Just Being That Damn Creepy

What They Would Get Arrested For: Again, several very dubiously justified murders, or Just Being That Damn Creepy

OC You Ship Them With: None, because she’s not healthy enough for a romantic relationship, and she is well aware of this.

OC Most Likely To Murder Them: Probably Edrikke. Liijuan is too confident in her ability to defend herself to see Arvella as a threat, and also poses too little of a threat to Arvella to become a possible murder target. Jens is genuinely just too nice, considerate, and understanding to get on Arvella’s bad side, even if he is a filthy, Alliance-side, Light-loving, paladin. Edrikke and Arvella think much alike, Edrikke being a warlock and Arvella being a shadow priest, but they’re from opposing factions. Murder might happen simply because those two are the most likely to be pitted against each other and actually do their jobs (unlike Jens, who is simply too nice).

Favorite Movie/Book Genre: Books of magic, weird or obscure history, newspapers

Least Favorite Movie/Book Cliche: Works that have protagonists who are Forces For Good™

Talents and/or Powers: Weird Old God magic, hiding just how much of a mess she is, hiding things in general, and probably some other talents I haven’t come up with yet.

Why Someone Might Love Them: Other people’s OCs might like her because she relishes in being vindictive and vengeful, and might do their dirty work if she can get some enjoyment from it. Other players might like her because she can easily drag other characters into predicaments

Why Someone Might Hate Them: If she isn’t compatible with another player’s character or preferred roleplay styles, she might be pretty annoying. Other characters might also object to her because her morals so inconsistent she may as well have chosen new standards each day by throwing darts.

How They Change: Well, once she devoted herself to the Old Gods, about half of her personality got wiped and rewritten. It made her basket of mental illnesses only slightly better, and definitely made her a worse person. She got sweet powers, though, and made peace with the shadow people she had already been seeing all the time since childhood. Overall that was a good deal for her. It definitely counts as a big change in her life.

Why You Love Them: I get to pack what little vindictive rage and desire to raise hell that I have into one character. I also get to insert my ASD/ADHD into her and amplify it, and I get to play someone with OCD, which I’ve always been vulnerable to developing. It’s fun to explore. Lastly, despite her being pretty dark, she’s my best character for humorous roleplay, and I can’t wait to try her out in a tabletop game.

If anyone who sees this wants to fill it out themself, I encourage it! I want to learn about people’s characters.

having three heirlooms on arvella is making leveling so much easier. i went from 30 to 40 in a day.

Up-to-date character concept for my shadow priest goblin, Arvella! 

She’s a freshly adult gob trying to just get through each day, dealing with so many mental illnesses that embracing the void somehow actually improved the situation in her head, and helps her function most days in spite of her illnesses. Turns out committing horrible murder with shadow magic is an effective coping mechanism?? 

Anyway, she’s garbage, but quality garbage (as goblins are). I assure anyone worrying about possible ableism here that she’s not an edgy caricature of a mentally ill person, and mostly uses all those void powers to fight what does deserve to be fought. Even if she is... morally dubious, and kind of cruel, she’s going to probably get along with anyone’s character that isn’t a douche, and is okay with moral ambiguity.

So hey, *nudge nudge* if anyone wants their characters to hang out in RP with a gobliny priest (and/or help me level her pls), the offer is open
