As my once in a blue moon maze runner post, I conclude that people claiming when Newt was talking about how when he woke up he felt empty was bc he couldn’t remember Sonya/Lizzie is stupid. It’s cute and all that but bro was just depressed. He was secluded from his friends for not being immune before the maze multiple times, couldn’t interact with his sister at all, we all know he’s gay so there was probably something up with that. It wasn’t just because he couldn’t remember Lizzie, and I think claiming that takes away from the fact that people don’t need a reason to be depressed
