Idk how much faith i should put in the Wikipedia list of best-selling novels of all time...

But if i do trust it then that means that there are only 18 novels in recorded history (that Wikipedia knows how to cite) that have sold more copies than Anne of Green Gables which apparently has sold over 50 million...

That is way higher up on the list of best-selling novels than i thought it would be. Also it should be noted that it is tied with 13 other novels for having sold 50 million copies but still that places it in top 32 novels of all time.

This fact is just so mindblowing to me.

Highly recommend another drama Jake was in, called 天黑请闭眼 (literally translating to “it’s dark close your eyes” but it refers to the game of mafia)

His character is completely different from shao fei. Whereas shao fei is brave and confident about himself, zi shuo is much more reserved and hella repressed.

The story itself revolves around a high school hiking club. On their last camping trip they filmed time capsules to be opened together ten years later.

The group had a falling out shortly after the trip, but ten years later, one of the members organized for them to go to that same mountain again. Crazy shit begins happening and the members start dying one by one, paralleling the game of mafia they played at the same place ten years before.

It’s basically a big locked room mystery since they’re trapped on the mountain, and everyone’s trying to figure out who the murderer is...

Jake plays a closeted man in love with his best friend. He confessed and came out in the time capsule, but never had the courage to do so in real life, and thus the intense repression

If you like murder mysteries and severely repressed gay love, ten outta ten would recommend
