I feel like the need to belittle a hobby or interest that we dont understand the appeal is dangerous for any of them (books, sports, fashion, etc). We risk pointing to the most extreme aspects that can be found in every hobby and demonizing it as a whole due to that. Why i kinda of discussed cute collectables and tcg cards in my initial post. I collect tcgs and I have a best friend who loves a lot of Popmart figurines, but one is being more openly discussed negatively online recently and it is SO SUPRISING (sarcasm) for the one that is....hmmmmmmm.

I'm Chinese with family members who suffered directly under Imperial Japan and I'm just so frustrated with Americans suddenly discovering or wagging a finger at everyone criticizing the Barbenheimer memes and going on about how the bombing was epic cosmic justice as payback for Japanese war crimes and their victims and the memes are also some form of, uh, fighting Japanese fascism and every Japanese person upset at the memes is just a whiny fascist? The US did not care about the victims of Imperial Japan and had military plans to nuke Korea and China after the war too, and just, the hypocrisy of Americans thinking civilians deserve to be nuked for their country's war crimes given their own country, though honestly, given all the 9/11 memes that mock people's deaths rather than American jingoistic around that day, I feel like a lot of Americans WOULD meme a nuclear attack on a US city at this point :| :| :|

The complete desensitization people have, the absolute refusal for even the smallest ounce of empathy is just so heartbreaking. They’re literally begging for people to be considerate, especially as the Peace Memorial Ceremony at Hiroshima is coming up on August 6. But the answer to meet it is just (unsurprisingly) more racism, including all the horrific things you mentioned.

Any and all victims who died as a result of the creation and detonation of this bomb are literally treated as a joke. To the point that not only mass audiences are treating it like a meme but also corporations plastering it and promoting it as a joke. and it’s just so awful how the US mindset has brainwashed people into thinking their country is so amazing that it was necessary, heroic, and also funny to wipe out almost 300,000 people instantaneously.

Nah actually I will never forgive those big pro choice blogs for bullying me years back when I was a kid because I decided to make a blog centered around civil discussions between pro choicers and pro lifers because apparently"we can never see eye to eye" only to go off and create a public Tumblr groupchat based of my idea.....
