[Yes! I will be here until midnight before returning this blog to Reilly and back to my own blog. 

In my free time I have a great sum of activities I like to do, but if I had to pick one, it would be working out. There is something very satisfying about lifting weights and beating up a punching bag. Plus I know I have to keep myself fit for my Reilly. She may not think I notice, but I can see that specific look on her face when she witnesses me working out, or sees me after I have finished. :P]

[Reilly really loves thrill parks! I would most definitely take her to one! She likes to ride roller coasters the most. From the most intimidating to the least. Though doing this makes her realize the smaller coasters are a bit... less thrilling? So she can have a reason to ride the big ones over and over again. I do not think she needs to come up with a reason to keep riding the big ones though, I love the big “scary” coasters, and I’d ride them with her all day!]

Fandom ask thing: Pokemon

Ooooooh, this should be an interesting one… I’ll probably just mix the Pokemon anime and games, as I’m slightly more on the casual end. XD

Favorite Male Character

I know when I was younger, my favorite human character from Pokemon was Brock. An expert of Rock-types, a great cook, and failure of a ladies man? That was the stuff for me back then. XD I think even now, he holds appeal deep in my heart. What I’m also happy about is, despite the fact that he tries to go for the babes, he was also aware of the matter when things got serious and didn’t goof around. Honestly, especially looking back at it now, much appreciated.

That said, more from the video game end of the spectrum who’s really appealed to me is the antagonist of the Pokemon Black and White games, Ghetsis. It’s been a long time since I’ve played Black/White, but that guy was a freakin’ hypocritical bastard in for it for his own gain, and it only gets worse as the game progresses. He’s actually one of the few characters that’s gotten under my skin in the best way you could ask for. I despise him, but I respect him for that, too.

One more little paragraph for the kicker, as the term “character” implies it doesn’t have to be human. An on that note, my favorite Pokemon character (currently) has to go to… BUZZWOLE! Nah, I mostly kid. Mewtwo. It’s probably because of my older brother’s findings and love for the character that has rubbed off on me, but I’ve really grown to appreciate Mewtwo much more than I have when I was younger. He’s complex, his backstory is tragic and anchored with some dark themes, even in the game universe. It also helps that the first anime movie deals with some pretty complex and deep stuff, notably in the Japanese version. Man, he’s too good. Graaaaanted, I know there’s the Female Mewtwo as well, but my nostalgia is referring to the old-school badass. XD Contrary to what you might think, I don’t hate the Female Mewtwo, but the first one was just a more defined character.

Honorary mention to Buzzwole from the newest Pokemon games. Keep flexin’ my Ultra Dude. XD

Favorite Female Character

Once again, applying the same sort of principles here as I did with the Favorite Male Character(s). That said, this one should be easier to narrow… And out of all the Poke Gals, in terms of characterization, I’m giving that to Misty. It just felt like there was a really good chemistry between her, Ash, and everyone else she came across. She felt very much like a character and not some Nice Girl archetype. While I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch Pokemon again for nostalgia’s sake (at least, not the TV series), it’s definitely saying something when Misty is still clicking to my faded memory, even after all this time.

Favorite female Pokemon that sticks to me very well too is Latias, though this I’ll admit is more partial to her anime counterpart. As far as being in a one-off movie goes, she left a REALLY strong impression, and she shared a strong chemistry with Ash and Latios. Honestly, now I wish that movie didn’t shove Misty, Brock, and the Classic Team Rocket out of the way, because I would have loved to seen more interactions with them. XD

Least Favorite Character

I dunno, I don’t think there’s anyone that strongly rings to me as “this is my least favorite” or even the more drastic “most hated”. There are so many characters in both the anime and games, you can’t really pin-point it to one particular source. Mostly because it just moves on. I don’t even have that much of a “least favorite / most hated” among the Pokemon, either. XD At least, not immediately.

I guess if I had to pin who my least favorite character, going off of the anime side, was Tracey. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate this character at all; my only stinging point was that he replaced Brock. XD Thankfully, it was all temporary, so any negative feelings I had for him have long since dissipated.

Favorite Ship

Ash and Misty. I mean, what else is there to elaborate on that hasn’t been said? I think we all know this legendary ship. XD

Favorite Friendship

Brock. Just Brock. By that, I mean Brock with anyone was always a joy. Can you tell I was really into Brock back in the hayday? XDDD

Worst Character Death (if any)

VIRTUALLY EVERY DEATH SCENE IN THE MOVIES, even if most of them came back to life.

Saddest Moment

Besides the emotionally impactful death scenes from the movies, while I can’t say it was an on-screen moment (unless it was), Misty breaking off rattled me pretty good. As did Brock when he was finally, and truly, replaced.

Favorite Location

JOHTO, JOHTO, JOHTO! Yeah, I’m a 2nd-Gen lover. :P
