Violet sighed, pushing her hair back out of her face. She’d spent years ignoring him. It had worked for a while but she was growing antsy, she was stuck in this God forsaken house and she couldn’t take it.

She’d lashed out at him. Putting all her anger towards him. Then the guilt washed over her. She hated being cruel to people. Tears filled her brown eyes. Her hand moving to her stomach.

His breath shaky her, she bends down putting her hands on her knees. “It’s so easy…to blame you.” She tells him.

brow furrows deeply, an almost-childish frown on her freckled face. she sees scary somethings far too often to have any real desire to see some when she can help it. it's one thing when she can't help it, & she doesn't like that either. hazel eyes widen, & she nervously adjusts her glasses. sure, she can understand a slightly dark sense of humor, even appreciate a well-timed grim joke, but she can't always tell what is a joke with some people. her brows pinch together, expression wary. index & thumb mime pinching after she recovers from the initial surprise of his appearance behind her. scare isn't quite the right word -- fear runs deeper than a base-level jumpscare. & it almost sounds like he wanted to scare her. "n-n-not -- y' s-sur -- surp-p-pris-sed me. s'all."

@likedbirds: do you think dying has made me morbid? / accepting.

annette can't quite help the slightly deadpan expression that paints freckled features. on one hand, yes. of course it would. dying is one of the most morbid things that can happen, after all, & she presumes the aftermath might make someone a little grim. no pun intended. but at the same time, she'd be a terrible judge. she didn't know him in life. she blinks, adjusting large glasses. "d-d-d'nn-no. s'a ... um. m-m-morb-bid thin-ng t-to, um ... go th - thr-rough." a sheepish half-smile, tight-lipped & toothless.

she isn't sure it's actually possible for anyone to have every possible childhood issue -- though she's quite aware that even one such affliction can feel heavier than any weight on the shoulders of anyone. so thin shoulders shrug underneath her usual brown cardigan, one hand fidgeting with her butterfly necklace. despite knowing the trump card she has up her sleeve (i see dead people), the medium remains quiet. "n-n-nev-ver -- nev-ver s-s-said y'd - y'd-didn-n'."
