How unhappy exactly is The Untamed? Like, on a balance of hurt/comfort... how much hurt vs how little comfort cause from gifsets it looks compelling! But also it sounds like there's lots of tragedy and I'm just not up for that :/

I need both hands to count all the characters who die in the flashbacks, then once the plot gets rolling it goes over two hands. But! The plot ends on a bittersweet but hopeful note, and neither of the queer romantic leads die. (Permanently).

Idk if you still want stangst but I've been toying with the idea of writing deaged fic (because it is THE MOST FUN TROPE) and it occured to me pretty quickly that while a deaged-to-20-something Stanley would have the time of his fucking life with Ford and the twins and basically bask in the attention of FAMILY who LIKE HIM and WANT HIM AROUND . . . a deaged Ford would be a fucking nightmare. [1/2]

So for your consideration: picture Stanley after a year reconnecting with his brother and having adventures and basically being the happiest he's been his entire life suddenly having to deal with a young Ford who hasn't forgiven him, who's still angrily nursing his hurt over the science fair, and who keeps asking suspicious questions about what he (Ford) did with his life and why are he and Stan on a boat together anyways. [2/2]

Oooo dang... That’s a sad, but very good point. If Ford were to become de-aged, and even his memories and mind were reverted to how they were at that point in time, then he would still have a beef with Stanley, wouldn’t he? I do believe that with time, Ford at that age would be able to forgive and move on... but at first, that would definitely be a difficult series of conversations for Stan to have at him. A really good and stangst-filled idea, thank you so much for sharing it! :OO
