*You bring Will into the shop. He’s absolutely adamant that he wants to adopt a King. They are so stately, like the Victorian era steampunk heroes he loves so much, and they love books too! He has no idea how he’ll go about choosing one. You urge him to be patient as you hand out pieces of steak to the happy lamia bittybones in the shop. You’ll get to the Kings soon enough.
*Will spots the Kings first, patting your shoulder excitedly and pointing once he has your attention. The Kings are all posing to show off their strength and agility. Will only has eyes for one of them though. It’s as if he dreamed this King to life. The King’s markings are such a glossy black, they almost appear blue- Will’s favorite color. The King looks handsome, noble and protective. When Will asks the King’s name, he has a feeling that he already knows the answer.
* “Enzo,” says the King. “after a fire prince.” Will nods to you. This is the one.
*Will and Enzo have become fast friends. They both enjoy cooking, but sometimes they still make mistakes in the kitchen. Vex greets the three of you warmly when you enter the shop. She smiles and laughs a little while you tell her about the adventures of Will and Enzo.
*She even manages to intervene before the Cornies can trick the Kings into eating the salt pie. Instead,s he distributes the apple juice to all who would like some, and they raise their glasses to Will and Enzo, the dream demon and the King lamia bitty.
