Hey guys I just have a little PSA thing, idk what I’d call it.
So my friend’s an artist (@liliachuu) and she made drawings of the three Pokemon Go gym leaders. As you may all know, Blanche and Candela aren’t exactly white people. Now, the thing is, she forgot that and she ended up coloring them with light skin instead because that’s what she’s used to; she usually draws anime characters, and you know not a lot of them have dark skin.

They look really cute for me tbh, but she edited it afterwards, at least. Some people who were actually nice enough taught her how to edit them (she lost the SAI files for them after, so she didn’t know how to fix them)

Look, she’s only 13 years old. She still has a lot to learn; she doesn’t know lots of things. Heck, she didn’t even know what the term “whitewashing” meant. She’s not racist, she just really forgot about their skin tones (though she did notice something was off while she was making the art; she just couldn’t figure out what). I don’t see why she’d even whitewash; she’s Malay, not American.
Her art is amazing and she’s still really young. Please don’t just assume she’s racist and hate her just because of one mistake. Those fucking haters are one of the reasons as to why some people don’t like this website.
