getting straight a’s and a few a pluses for the semester seem to be a piece of cake, easy peasy lemon squeezy. getting his swim team to first wasn’t a whole load of effort and her he is, tapping his foot (metaphorically) for a little credit. i mean-- look at the pristine title he’s giving the institution! the very school that houses juvenile spawns of villains. 

another stressful point are the rumours pertaining to his brother receiving a fanclub, absurd-- and very stressful on leo’s fight of one-upping his twin.

naturally, like any prodigy, he winds up at a library. 

and guess who winds up being magnetised by his handsomeness to sit next to him? oh it’s just too good. liko li, the unfortunate past sheet tangler who didn’t bother to open his eyes and stay. 

“guess you couldn’t run from a charming’s charms for long huh?” amused, as always. that cocky, unforgiving, (massive) shit-eating grin taped on his lips for liko to see. 

let him know exactly what he’s missing out on. 

“wouldn’t blame you.” he continues in that charming voice, laced with years of mastering. it’s not hard for the prince for charms to get people... charmed. 

he’s inching closer, leering and luring towards the male. the distance between the two of them is no issue for the prince. let’s watch him squirm. just to elevate the stress of the thought of lucien charming having a--- 

“heard you and my new charity case, jasper are getting cozy. doesn’t the kid remind you of me a little?” surely jasper does, unfortunately enough. “always knew you liked them feisty, as we both know...” leo thinks to himself after the words escape his lips, is it enough of a blow? 

no, not yet. 

“i guess now that you’ve realised what a big fat mistake it was to lose me and now, you’ve got to pick left-overs.” ah yes, there’s the cherry on top! now let the show unravel.

↳ TRAITS OF THE PARENT

just like his mother, MULAN, he is determined & mischievous – especially with the ones he deems close to his heart. he often finds himself lost in his own mind, questioning if he’s doing the right thing, if he’s wearing the right thing, if he’s said the right thing – completely self conscience to the insecurity of who is he in this world? though he grew up with loving parents just as his mother did, he never felt as if he could really make a mark in their lives with his successes. he hopes to prove himself to them one day, just like his mother had to his grandparents. when it comes to the traits of his father, SHANG, he is as hard headed as them ( but only when it comes to certain matters such as school & love ). liko values loyalty & honesty as if it would depend on ones life, and if anyone were to ever sever his trust he wouldn’t be afraid to cut them out the best way he could, just as his father tried to do to his mother.

↳ TRAITS OF THE HEART

though li liko is the son of the saviours of china, he tends to keep himself isolated from the outwardly troubles of the world. instead of venturing off on his own for a great cause he would rather read a book or two in his dorm. unfortunately, he often thinks more so for himself than others ( which is both bad & good in some cases ). family honour is something that weighs heavy over his shoulders, which forces him to crack down & become the picture perfect student at school – but when the lights are out, the real liko comes out to play. this liko is troublesome one, one that works hard & plays hard. known as a ladies man he’s notorious for looking at a few to too many girls at a time, especially when he’s intoxicating. he’s the life of the party, with his entertaining dance moves all the way to the wit of his mind. when there’s a goal to reach, and he will do anything to achieve it. when he feels threatened, he isn’t afraid to eliminate the enemy, which has gotten him in trouble at school a few times in the past. he’s hot headed yet caring all at the same time, a complex yet completely normal human being.

↳ ‘ TELL EVERYBODY I’M ON MY WAY— ’

& once upon a time there was a general and warrior who saved the world, not quite hand in hand, but close enough.

before li liko was born twenty years ago on november seventeenth the world his mother & father knew was on the brink of disappearing. she was so young, and his head was so high up in the air. how the two of them came together to defeat the huns is still an inspiring story many like to remind liko about, even though he’s heard it all before.

being in the shadow of two great fighters was expected & even more pressure to become what his parents were was something he grew accustomed to hearing from his elders. his mother would constantly remind him that he could be whatever he wanted, a free spirit for all she cared as long as he was happy – as for his father, well, his father wanted liko to become the next great general just as they had become.

there was more to life than fighting for a nation, though, that was one thought he would keep to himself. rather than put his life on the line he would become something so much more than violence, he would become his own breed of protection ( what that was he still did not know ) after all he was still young & ruthless, prone to starting fights that didn’t matter. he would have to get that out of his system before the future comes tip toeing with a challenge, where he could be level headed & solve conflict without malice. he would be different from parents, that’s something he constantly told himself.

but the constant pressure of being MULANS son was something that he couldn’t shrug off, not even at school. even though he’s been there for three years ( or so ) without much guidance from his parents, he still felt as if he was being watched – especially in the walls of the school. that’s where he kept his mind focused, where he tricked everyone that he was the superior son MULAN had given birth to.

fact of the matter was that he was just a REBEL without a CAUSE.

since he was the only child in his family he became easily bored with responsibility as he grew, the riches & fame that came with being the son of SHANG & MULAN. somewhere, of course, deep within his heart he was good but at this current time he was obsessed with doing whatever he wanted, even if that meant soiling the family’s name. but he was only willing to bend the rules outside of class, that is.
