Okay. I named some new characters.
The Diah’s parents are: Lilja Diah, born from parents who had recently come over from Iceland, her mother of Icelandic descent, and her father partially Welsh. Her name is pronounced Lil-ya, and is the Icelandic form of Lily.
Hector Diah, who was born Hector Diaz-Iah, to parents of Egyptian and Spanish descent. He thought his name was too long when he was young, so he combined his two last names together, to form Diah.
Lilja is more connected to her roots, and so the grandkids call her Amma Lilja, which is the word for Grandma in Iceland. I feel like Hector goes by Papi and I have no idea why, because it would make more sense for him to go by Abuelo.
I also finally named Lani’s German grandparents, who have previously just been referred to as Oma and Opa. They now have names. Rosemarie, who goes by Romy, and Otto. So Oma Romy. Opa Otto.
